I had an unpleasant experience. It was Sunday breakfast and myself, my husband and my 2 children decided to go here. My two daughters have tree nut allergies, but there was no reason to ask for accommodations because one daughter had an egg burrito, with no mention of nuts. And the other daughter ordered a Taylor ham, egg and cheese sandwich. Well both kids were served a salad with tree nuts on them. It does not say anywhere that’s a salad is served with these items. Fruit cup? Hash browns? The staff was sweet, but honestly not helpful. We had to get up and order coffee,then get up for silverware, salt and pepper, and juice for the kids, this was not the relaxation experience that we had hoped for. Oh yea and now both kids have nuts on their plates, and we explained this …. What would you do ?

I recently visited BEX in Califon , NJ while out on a group bicycle ride and it was a great experience. This coffee stop is cozy and inviting, and the staff is friendly and very welcoming - especially important for cyclists. The coffee and treats were varied & delicious. I would highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone but specially cyclists , looking for a great cup of coffee & a treat.Enjoy !

Becky and Kate are incredibly kind and the muffins are delicious. My favorite is the Morning Glory muffin. When I stopped in, they made me feel welcomed and like I was in Stars Hollow (for the Gilmore Girls fans). I'll definitely be back and hope to try some of the breakfast and lunch dishes. They're also doing events like sound healing and live music which is very exciting. Thank you for being a wonderful part of the community!

WE LOVE BEX!! They catered our 65 person party and sent two staff members to help us out. People cannot stop talking about the food and the staff members were awesome humans to have at our event. Highly recommend!! Thank you!

This is about the store, right next to the Columbia Trail. Is is Sunday and the Califon General Store is closed those days. Saw their banner "open", and a number of bicycles and bikers sitting outside. There is indoor seating. Grabbed a 12 oz can of Coke. The cashier said $4.26, I said for just a can of coke ? The cashier said yes.... I put it back. They only have fancy water and other "healthy" drink options. I have stopped at the General Store many times, guess I'll keep going there or bring my own on my rides.

What a spectacular job was performed for me. My husband and I were celebrating our 60th Wedding Anniversary with a luncheon. We were having about 20 people back to our home. With a recommendation from Frank Anthony's in Chester we headed for Bex's. Chris and Becky came to our rescue in spectacular fashion. The food was outstanding and Krista, our server, was awesome. Every time I spoke to Chris and was unsure what to serve, he came up with perfect suggestions. We were able to enjoy our company and not worry about setting up or serving our guests. Even though it was not a nice day and we had to be in the house, instead of our backyard, Krista made everything work. Would definitely use them again.

We invited Bex to cater my parents 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Becky and Chris were enormously helpful and patient as our party morphed from a small backyard gathering to a fully catered party for 85 with rented tents etc in my awkwardly located backyard!From the very beginning both Becky and Chris insisted "we got this" and with their help we pulled off a spectacular and memorable celebration I think we will all talk about for many years to come. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!I would 100% ask Bex to cater another event in the future. Thank you so so much to the whole team!

The food is absolutely delicious. We had a small 10 people gathering event. We ordered 3 appetizers, 1 salad, two main courses, two sides and one dessert. It was a little pricy, but you get so much food. Our guest was able to bring a lot food back home with them after the event. Everything was really delicious, especially the steak. It was the best steak I ever had. It still taste really good after reheating. That was such a successful event, thank you so much! We will for sure come back for future events.
Super disappointed as this place is right down the road. The food isn’t as good as most delis/general stores - I’d go as far as to say, the food is bad. We ordered 2 egg sandwiches and a very small pastry (tasteless cinnamon roll) and it was $31 - no coffees - no water. The staff is young and seem very unorganized. At least we tried…

Bex catered a 'sit down' Celebration of life' for us recently, handling everything from flowers to tableware to tent (when weather threatened) to menu. Everything was flawless and food outstanding as always. I so appreciated the care, attention to detail, and kindness throughout.
