I went by the other day to try this place again after its been 2 years since my first and last encounter and saw that they closed down which was no surprise to me. So I figured I would do my review of my original visit. I took the day off work bc my son had a drs appt and we went to Jordan Johnsons for lunch. The place was empty. Not ONE customer in there around 2pm. There were 2 workers sitting at the booth laughing and talking while Im standing there at the front waiting for some assistance. I walked over to them and said "excuse me" and they both looked at me with a disgust look on their face and the one said, "ill be with you when Im done". I said can I at least have a menu while I wait for your "to be done". She said like I said, Ill be with you when Im done. So as I walked away Jordan Johnson himself walked in the door and asked if I was helped and I said nope and the girl jumped up and came over to me. I told him what happened and the waitress lied and said that I never told her I was ready. I said I asked you for a menu bc you told me you would help me when your done. So he spoke to me very kind, told me hes sorry and that he is trying to build his establishment into a Chickie and Petes kind of place where its sports, good music, great food and more. He wanted it to be THEEEEE spot of the northeast. He handed me a menu and told me to enjoy. I go to order the chicken alfredo and my son wanted the salmon in garlic and butter sauce with greens. After placing my order and waiting for 30 minutes, the girl comes out and says they have no chicken and they substituted my alfredo with shrimp and I have to pay extra. I said I didnt ask for you to do that and Im not paying extra. She told me I have to bc its already made. I told her thats her problem not mine bc I never authorized her or anyone to change my order. We were going back and forth for almost 10 minutes. I told her to cancel the entire order we were leaving. She told me I had to pay bc they already made my food. I walked out. I figured once the place learns how to operate as a restaurant, I would be back which is what I tried to do today and low and behold, they were out of business. Not surprising.

I ordered delivery from this place and by reading all the reviews, I was really excited. The food is EXTREMELY salty and the spices are overtaking the flavor of the chicken. I've never had a curry that bad! I'm not sure how this is considered to be "gourmet"

Overcooked shrimp and mussels. What they call curry was unrecognizable by ANY standard - underseasoned and watery. Dry rice - it tasted stale. Indifferent staff could not be bothered with any questions. Never going back

This spot is the best! Came here from New York and I want to come back and try EVERYTHING on the menu. Stand outs were the Caribbean curry fries like OH MY GOODNESS it was sooo good. And the portions here? I came home with enough to eat in front of my television and I'm honestly looking forward to it. chef Johnson personally came out after which really touched us because that food has LOVE and EFFORT in it! Appetizer set the tone and dessert some strawberry ice box cake just ended it nicely. Thank you Diana and Marie for the service also it was OUTSTANDING!

Jordan Johnson's is one of my favorite black owned business in the neighborhood. The food is phenomenal and Maria, who normally take the over the phone orders, is really great. The quality and portion sizes for the to-go orders are worth every penny. When the world opens back up we will definitely be returning for dine in. The inside is nice as well.

Just finished the garlic parmesan mussels. Absolutely best mussels I've ever had. The garlic parmesan sauce is what made them so good. Definitely worth the price. Ordered delivery through DoorDash. Will order delivery again from here.

I stopped here on the advice of a friend. It was def good advice! I had the salmon fried rice, the serving was generous! Listen, if you plan on eating from here, plan your time accordingly, because the service is extremely slow. My order took about 45 mins, but it was def worth the wait. Today I tried their new location inside island Ave shoprite, decided to go with the shrimp Alfredo. It was divine!!! The chef is so personable, the wait time is much faster than the original location. Bottom line, you can't go wrong choosing Jordan JOHNSON !

Love love love the food especially the curry salmon. I will warn you that the place is a little disorganized and confusing. These is a bar in the middle, but no bartender and it's BYOB. Why have a bar then? Music is R&b throughout the night. Alot of birthdays on weekend. Though confusing to a new patron, stay and eat you will get over it really quickly.
