Made a reservation for our family of 6 on Trivia Night. Great service. Our waitress Sam took great care of us. Food was yummy and the drinks were ice cold. Try the brick oven personal pizza. It was yummy! The trivia competition was fun and entertaining.

Bait & Switch place. We were given an advertisement card for Carney's from the Bed & Breakfast place we stayed. It stated on the card Carney's Restaurant & Bar 411 Beach Ave, Cape May, NJ and it had times they were open and it specifically stated on the card 4pm to 6pm Happy Hour 7- days a week, half price off drinks and flatbread pizzas. My wife and I went there at 5pm and ordered two drinks and were told they have no flatbread pizza. All they had were regular size pizza, then we were told there is no Happy Hour prices. I gave the bartender their own ad card and told him it was given to us by the hotel. He took the card and asked a woman who worked there about it, her reply was it's no good, took it from him and threw it in the trash " there's the bait and switch" I can honestly say even if they did honor their own advertisements, their food and drinks are very pricey and the food is definitely not worth it. The pizza was very small and the crust was like cardboard. We each had one slice, finished our drinks and left and can promise never to return, especially after the woman rudely threw their own advertisement for a 7 day week Happy Hour in the trash and said its no good. That's a bait & switch, so do not fall for the same false Carney's ads you find or given to draw you in, while in Cape May. Note: Right next door to Carney's Bait & Switch dive is an amazing restaurant called Taco Caballito, the food and drinks are amazing, the prices are great and the staff and service are great, with high energy and atmosphere. High recommend Taco Caballito's

Needed lunch after riding a surrey bike. Received immediate seating by a window. Nice cool breeze coming in through open doors. Kids loved their pizza. My burger was perfectly cooked and lettuce and tomato were fresh. Excellent lunch.

Not a good value. Shrimp was under cooked. I ordered a mocktail for $9 that was lemonade with strawberry syrup. The menu claimed it would have fresh strawberries in it. Tables were too close together. Service was not great. To top it off they gave me a bag of chips two weeks past the expiration date. Will not return; there are many other better options.

So St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Cape May , 2023 ,we haven’t been in Carney’s in quite sometime, we spent much of Sunday afternoon sitting at the bar having a few drinks, what a great experience ,drinks were good ,food was good , and most importantly, the bartenders were excellent ,very nice to watch a group of people who really enjoy being together, including those working all day Sunday.. it just was a lot of fun . Special quest bartender I believe his name is Truff or something close to that, he was great, good guy , but again all the staff was awesome.. we will be back …

Great kickoff of 2023 at Carney’s St. Patrick’s Day. This place is better than ever, great location, food and drinks. Not to mention live music. Looking forward to visiting many times this Summer.

We hosted our wedding after party at Carneys in September and it was the absolute best place to host an after party. Michelle was so helpful when planning and organizing all the details. We were able to get a special section and wristbands for our guests to make the evening go smoothly. All our guests enjoyed the pizza - perfect end of night food! The DJ was the best. She rocked the crowd and we danced until closing! A perfect venue to rock the night away after your wedding.

Went to Carneys to watch the Eagles Giants game sunday and the place was closed although they advertised specials for the game. Got there at 12:30 place was locked up. Went on their webpage and it said open. A waste of time

They accommodated our group of 20 and allowed us to plan it months in advance. They separated us into two groups which was fine, but our food timing was way off and group started eating when the other finished. They charged a fee of $14.30 just for using cash which I thought was weird. They then lost my mothers credit card, it was eventually found. I thought the food was good but probably wouldn’t recommend for a large group.

We stopped in last Friday thinking it was just a local bar. We sat at one of the 2 bars and had finger food consisting of French Onion Soup, Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and Macaroni and cheese skillet. All were excellent. That, plus 1 beer and 3 glasses of wine was $87 plus tip. Will, the Bartender was friendly and provided excellent service. We walked next door to the other bar and there was a duo playing music and a dance floor where us Seniors mixed it up with the youngsters. Satursay night we had dinner elsewhere and stopped by Carneys afterwards, The band was the Whitewalls from Philadelphia, and they were terrific. This is a fun place with good food. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Cape May in December.

I was hesitant to try this place due to some of the recent negative reviews. I’m glad I took a chance. I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. We were seated right away and we’re provided excellent service. The food was good, the drinks were well made. It was a lively place, as there was a band playing. My one complaint, which had nothing to do with the place itself is, we couldn’t have a decent conversation over the loud music. Aside from that, I highly recommend it. It’s a good spot for a casual meal and drinks.

Worst experience. Went for the $1 oysters to find out they don't have any. I said to the blonde hostess that had way to much makeup on how can I even find out nobody answers the phone. A BIG WASTE OF TIME. She wasn't even apologetic!!!!!

One waitress on duty. Very slow service. People were leaving. Not her fault but not good. Burgers were tasty but rather small sized. Waited a very long time for a warm, diluted $10 chocolate milkshake (price wasn’t on the menu).Overall not a good experience. Won’t be returning.

Ordered fish tacos, broiled crab cake sandwiches and several of the small plates. Overall food was fine along with some drinks off the "Handcrafted Cocktails' menu. Service was quick and pleasant as not many seats were occupied but being Labor Day afternoon with the exodus of Cape May happening at the time, it was expected to be quiet.

I'm a long time patron of Carneys Restaurant in Cape May.I understand the circumstances of today's staffing issues and finding kitchen help and professional culinary skilled help. But the food wasn't up to par ordered a Grilled Chicken Caesar salad burger platter and a crab cake sandwich platter. The Fry later oil was old, fries were cooked and over cooked, crab cake sandwich platter didn't have the sauce that it comes with. Then we get to a traditional chicken Caesar saladIt comes with no chicken I give it politely back to the wonderful server who was excellent in her service. She comes back after the kitchen help gives her my saled they put chicken on it.I had to dig for it ,diced chicken that was 5 square cut.Waitress comes back asked how is it. I was honest with her where's the chicken she saw it herself apologies.Takes saled back says they are making another one. It's the same one more square dried chicken and stale croutons. So I find out the cook cooking the food is 16 no real experience.Find out Owner son is new managing owner.Word of advice Owner needs to put an apron on if he can't find a real short order skilled professional or chef to expedite and make sure the product is going out correctly. That's your name comeing out of the kitchen.People are not stupid with sub standards food service with higher than average prices. If your going to take legacy over go to culinary school with management.I'm speaking from experience and was an owner operator for 22 Years.Location looks great you added Pizza and a few other things but it's nothing like Before.Word of advice hire better learn the standard process of great food go to school 18 month course so you have the confidence to step in when your staff can kill your food business because of lack of experience.Good luck yes you have a great location yes your bar makes you your profit. But your food is key must be on point if your going to charge.Let's talk about the 2.04 no cash payment.I paid cash tipped in Cash.Bad business..I understand the the fees at the end of the month. But you can get credit card processor who will charge if customer uses credit card to cut your expenses. But you put it on Bill.I paid Cash I didn't say anything at the restaurant but I'm telling you the owner the legacy.Bad business.
