Horrible service. We actually got up and walked out after sitting and being ignored while the waitress socialized with her regulars. So many things wrong with this place. Will never be back and will never recommend.

We had breakfast at Mermaids, I am gluten free and dairy free. I ordered the veggie omelet with home fries . It was the best omelet I have ever had. Amazing home fries as well. Will definitely return and highly recommend!5 Star food!!!!

We sat on the back deck, enjoying the sea breeze. The dunes obscure a full ocean view but we were treated to a wedding on the convention hall deck. Does that make us wedding crashers?? Good food. I enjoyed the Chicken Casaer Wrap and my sister thoroughly enjoyed her Buffalo Cheesesteak. Relaxing, enjoyable afternoon in Cape May. Parking still remains a nightmare

Food was good, nothing to brag about. Service was good. Ambience is the best, overlooking the beach.

This place is very nice. I've been here before and enjoyed it. So I went back. I love it setting right on the beach. Prices are pretty good as well.

I ‘ve never eaten in my life such a horrible clam chowder! I typically cook all the soups including chowders at home all the time, but this was water with just plain probably glass of starch. They made it simple recipe, water and starch! They should be ashamed to provide such dishes to customers! It’s my first restaurant public review because it just was impossible to eat it!

I visited Mermaids on a weekend when it was not too crowded and there was no waiting line. I had noticed this restaurant before, but this was my first time dining there. We got a table quickly, near the back patio that had a view of the sand dunes and the beach. The restaurant was located in the center of the town, close to the convention hall. The atmosphere was not very typical of a seafood restaurant, but it had a coastal vibe. I chose the eggs benedict and my partner ordered the greek omelet. The food was slow to arrive and the service was average. We had two waitresses, one of whom was friendly and attentive, and the other one who was rude and neglectful. It seemed like they were playing good cop and bad cop, which I did not appreciate. I wondered if we had offended the rude waitress somehow, because she forgot to bring us water, coffee, straws, and the check. We had to wait for more than ten minutes for the check, and then we decided to ask the hostess for it. The younger staff members, such as the bussers, waiter, and hostess, were much more helpful than the rude waitress, who seemed to be nice to other customers. I understood that the restaurant might have been busy, but that did not excuse the poor attitude and service from that waitress. It was especially disappointing because my partner and I had driven for two hours from north Jersey to have breakfast there (around 9:30 am). The food was satisfactory, but the service from that waitress was unacceptable.

Hit the Mermaid twice this vacation. Their chicken kabobs were awesome, and the veggies and rice are something I actually look forward to every year when we visit Cape May. Wanted something simple the second time, went with a good ole grilled cheese with tomato. Goes awesome with a bowl of clam chowder ?

We've been going to Mermaids since they opened. Arguably our favorite Cape May breakfast joint. We recently wrapped up a family vacation with 17 people for breakfast. Mermaids was perfect, food got great compliments from all. Maggie the waitress was very accommodating. We will return and thank Mermaids for taking care of the large group on short notice!

One of my favorite restaurants…for seafood cooked perfectly with really generous portions…That has been consistently consistent…the mediterranean calamari appetizer is absolutely to die for...The chef is a genius. I've eaten it all over the world...it's the BEST. Hands down.

Great outside, shaded eating experience.Food was very good. Service was excellent. Thank you.We stopped for ice cream at the outside counter later close to sunset.Good selection, Cash only.Parking: Parking would obviously depend on the time of day, and time of year. There was a drop off area of sorts.

Wonderful place, easy-going beachy atmosphere, great food, very reasonable prices. Dog-friendly, as they allowed our little Havanese into the outside dining pavilion where we had a great view of the ocean. My companion had a cheddar cheese omelette which he said was excellent and because I rarely see it on breakfast menus, I ordered the creamed chipped beef on toast. Probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Will definitely be back.
