I've been going to the Mad Batter for many years and it has been nothing but spectacular. This place holds such a special place in my heart, it is where I go to celebrate any special occasion and even just a place that feels like home. The service is always great, the staff are kind and accommodating. The food is delicious, always comes out hot and is noteworthy every time. Especially the vegan options, I've been vegan for almost 10 years and the Mad Batter is still one of my favorite restaurants to get a very well done vegan meal. The space they have created there is so calm, dreamy and pleasant and keeps me coming back. I can't wait for the next time I come here. Maybe we will see some vegan Waffles or pancakes in the future too!!Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options available and so tasty and filling.

Horrible service.Clam chowder was chowder colored water with 0 clams. We sent back soup and were treated with narcissistic, unqualified staff that has no business in food service.O stars if it was an option.Spend elsewhere.

I eat this place a one star cause it took them 20 minutes to get our order for just drinks and it wasn’t crowded.

The Mad Batter is mad delicious! I ate here last night with my folks and we all loved our dishes. We also ordered some cocktails and the bayberry one was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had.I’m thrilled they have easy-to-find vegan options set aside in their own section of the menus. The vegan paella with “sausage” was so tasty. The vegan mac was somewhat squash-esque but in a flavorful and colorful way. Vegan mac is hard to do right but I think they did!My folks got some sticky bbq wings to start and said they were fantastic! The only teeny tiny qualm we had was one dish being on the salty side but other than that I would highly recommend. Our server was delightful as well. We will be back tonight to try some more!

Cute lil restaurant! Food portions are large, so order accordingly. Only negative I can think of is their inability to split a check at a table.

When I’m here visiting I could probably eat all 3 meals a day here. Loved rolling in here on Sunday and seeing the local music scene too. It’s one of my favorite spots to grab a drink too. Good staff and the food is on point! Good vibes and I recommend staying at the hotel Carrol villa which is attached to this amazing establishment.

We were in town for the weekend mid-February and stopped in for dinner. The bar was full but we were able to sit in the bar area and enjoy the music thankfully. We had a few cocktails and shared an appetizer (chicken tostadas not pictured but I can assure you they were fabulous) and crab cakes. The food was delicious. It was very busy in general, bar and dining area. Kyle, who I think is the manager, was exceptional and made sure we had what we needed throughout the night. The music in the bar was great and everyone was enjoying it. Our table neighbors were super friendly. The bay rooms were clean. Overall a very wonderful experience. I can’t comment on parking other than to say the town is very walkable because we walked from the hotel. I would definitely come here again if I’m in the area. Oh and we did get a slice of cake to go and ate that the next day on the beach and it was very good as well.Vegetarian options: There were a few vegan/vegetarian options that sounded very good. Check the menu online to be sure.

We came here for some live music and food. Kyle, the manager on duty, gave us unbelievable service. He was awesome and made our experience top notch. We had the crab cakes and they were great. Live music was fun and the bar was hopping on a Saturday night in the winter. What a fun, great experience. I recommend a stop and will visit again when in town.

Service was good. Ambience was good. But I ordered the hot chocolate ($4) and they served swiss miss and water! Do not get it! I am astounded.

They definitely were not expecting as many people as they had. The service was a little slower than usual but that did not affect the quality of the experience. The food was outstanding! We will definitely be

Mediocre at best. It's hard to believe that place received an award for anything. Don't get there during the shift changes.

We've dined at the Mad Batter for over 8 years and find it to be a wonderful venue for lunch and dinner as well as its well established reputation for breakfast and brunch. The menu for both is diverse and should satisfy any palate and the prices are reasonable. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The food is consistently good. This is a great go to place for breakfast/brunch with lots of waffles and pancake offerings. Most recently I ordered the standard breakfast (eggs and meat) and added the extra meat option. I was surprised to see that both meats were full servings - I had scrapple and sausage links - and delicious at that. The lunch and dinner menus have vegetarian options and a great array of choices. I had a paella which was delicious. This restaurant has a full bar which is a nice treat should you want a drink with brunch. Wine options are good with fair pricing points. The only “downside” in our mind is the charge to use a credit card. We will continue to return and recommend this establishment.

Summary: Great location let down by the food.Lovely place and we enjoyed the atmosphere. It was a good place to go with kids. We were sat immediately (though it was off season). However, the food here is very, very odd. We had the clam chowder — it was very watery. Then we had an omelette — it was just fried egg that was then wrapped around boiled vegetables. I’ve never seen anything like this. The pancakes were completely tasteless. So so strange, and the food is a massive let down for what is a great location.
