This is a lovely restaurant on Main in Chatham. Seating consists of small table with chairs. However the chairs lack any cushions and can be uncomfortable. The ambience is open, spacious, with big windows and dotted with lots of plants. The menu is well designed and organizedStaff is friendly, attentive and helpfulFood was good however in both or dishes (Chicken Thai Basil curry and Shrimp ginger scallion from the lunch special) the protein appeared to be deep fried, I would have preferred it cooked with the dish to better absorb the flavors.

The food was okay, but the servers weren’t. As a brown woman, I felt there was some racism. We were treated differently when it came to taking our orders, answering our questions on the dishes and just the overall services compared to the other “local” folks. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone! After reading the response from the owner, let me just correct them by stating facts, that we were the first people to walk in as the restaurant opened and in the hour that we were there, only 4 out of some 20 tables were occupied, clearly you weren’t busy! We were also asked to choose the table we wanted to sit in, so no we weren’t “offered” your last available table.

We frequently go to taste of Asia. Their regular menu is very authentic and very tasty. We also do the annual new years menu. It is truly worth the visit to taste of Asia.

Zero Star went for lunch; the place had only three tables with people at them. We were two people and asked to sit at a table for 4 to sit next to each other and talk. Nine tables could handle four people. The owner, Steven Chia, would not seat us at a four-top. Insane think we were discriminated against! It made no sense. I repeatedly asked why we could not sit at a four-top. The restaurant was Empty! Worst customer service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. I understand now why the place was EMPTY! Owners are supposed to promote business, but he did the opposite. I hope he treats the staff better than he treats guests.

I had the Singapore Style Vermicelli here and it was so good.I liked it so much that I looked for a recipe online, bought some ingredients, and tried making it myself. it was absolutely awful when I made it. An absolute abomination of food I created. So just go to Taste of Asia. Food is really good there

I absolutely loved the spring rolls, chicken satay, and peanut sauce! Everything was perfect. Haven't had Asian food this good in years! I live in Scotch Plains but luckily tutor at the Chatham Library. The Scotch Plains area lacks good Thai restaurants. The service was excellent, too. Will return for more takeout.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night and it was pretty crowded but we were seated right away. I would say the decor had a South East Asian theme. The restaurant is on the main road in Chatham so it's hard to miss.Started with the roti and fried tofu skin. The roti was pretty much like a French crepe. I was expecting it to be more like a Malaysian style crispy and flaky roti. The curry dipping sauce was small and didn't really have much protein or potato in it. The fried tofu skin was nice and crunchy and filled with vegetables and the sauce was pretty good. It tasted almost like a healthy fried egg roll. For mains we got the fried rice and Vietnamese style grilled pork over vermicelli. The fried rice was okay. It didn't have the wok flavor that I usually look for in a good Asian fried rice and the rice was more wet than I prefer. The Vietnamese pork chop had good flavor but it was missing the signature grilled flavor you'd get from a Vietnamese restaurant. The vermicelli noodles were also not the traditional rice noodles you'd expect in this dish but more like glass noodles. Lastly, I found the size of the dish very small for the price. It came in a small bowl which was more like an appetizer size.Overall I think this restaurant seems to try to have a variety of Asian dishes but unfortunately the ones we tried were a miss for us. Maybe we didn't order the right dishes but the small sample size we tried were not compelling enough for us to try more.
