I love trying new Vietnamese restaurant especially for their pho. I got the pho with tenderized steak for $19 which is pretty pricey but considering it's steak, I thought it might be worth it. Well, it wasn't. When it arrived the first thing I thought was "this isn't mine" but I looked at my two friends who got the same pho and it looked the same so I figured that's just what the tenderized steak pho looks like. I stirred around and noticed a bunch of beef briskets and thought it was strange and after taking a few bites I realized I could have just gotten a pho tai for much cheaper for the same experience. Although the meat wasn't spectacular, the broth was good and the noodles were prepared well. The service was great and my water was always refilled in a timely manner. The ambiance is well lit and is a good spot for lunch. Although Anise sits lower in my power ranking for pho, I still enjoyed the friendly service and warm atmosphere. *BONUS: try the chicken satay skewers, they are tender and delicious and is packed with flavor

The service is always 100%. Brian is often here every day and will go out of his way to explain things. You can tell that the food is healthy and is very authentically prepared I have had this dish about about 10 times in a row now !

Super cute local like spot. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The service is quick from the moment walking in to be seated and food service. I had the chicken satay, and pho with filet. The chicken satay was delicious! Four skewers so a really good portion. The pho was also a giant portion. Personally didn't like the filet as choice of cut, it was cooked and tasted fine but felt like a burger in my Pho. I'm not familiar with beef much but I think a thin type cut would be good.

I definitely wanted to like this place. Whenever I enter a new Asian spot I play it safe. I order a lo mein. Tonight I ordered a beef lo mien, the flavor was there. But, Stopping in the middle of eating to put the beef lo mein Into a colander toDrain the huge Amount of oil was a big letdown. A quarter of the container was oil. They used London broil for the beef which was like chewing on a shoe. Yes I finished the whole portion but after draining the oil. I might go back but very unlikely. I can’t even figure out why the cook needed this much oil. I can’t find a good Asian spot down here n south jersey. Have to go back to my nyc to get good food.

I love pho and really had a craving for some so I decided to give it a try at Anise. The shrimp summer rolls were too sticky and “fillet mignon” pho had good tasting broth but a couple pieces of shredded or coarsly ground beef were a far cry from what one would expect… for $19 I did expect just that, the fillet mignon thin slices …?‍♀️

Anise is my new favorite pho in south jersey. Amazingly clean and flavorful broth and tender bits of bovine. Even the limes used as garnish were plump and juicy. Lastly, Anise is clean throughout including the Sriracha bottles on the table which seems rare elsewhere for some reason. Looking forward to coming back soon.

My husband had pho soup and it was delicious. I had the rice meal with grilled pork and quiche. The grilled pork looked more like a barbecue pork rather than grilled. The dipping fish sauce for the grilled pork was extremely sweet compared to the normal flavor. The atmoshpere in the restaurant would have been fine for a quiet 330pm on a Friday with a quiet family couple of tables away from us. But it was not quiet due to a couple of vietnamese waiters chatting loudly with each other while standing behind the counter. So 3 stars only for the loud chatty waiters, very very sweet fish sauce, and the wet grilled pork.

Food is good but it's pricey now for Vietnamese food and they cut the portions down too this might be my last time there. Down mind price increase but if you going to do don't cut the portion too

The most wonderful atmosphere and the waitstaff is exceptional! I ate the oxtail pho with extra noodles, added fresh broccoli and they have an awesome crushed chili you can add. I started off eating pho all over New Orleans now, I am able to eat pho all over America. This was definitely in the Top 3 of pho in America in my opinion! Do yourself a flavor and swing on through!?Parking: It's in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking.
