My family of 5 and I went to Marylin’s on a Sunday for breakfast and it was great! Upon arrival, we waited maybe about 3 minutes for them to set up a table. Once seated, the restaurant is VERY crammed: there’s booths lining both sides, which can seat 4 people comfortably, however they have larger tables in the middle and it is TIGHT.Our waitress was very nice and got everything right! Our only complaint is that our table’s food came out at different times and 2 people in our party were 1/2 way done with their meals before the rest of the table got their food… it also took some time to get our sides of toast, sausage, etc. so eating was a little awkward timing-wise.The owner is a long haired gentleman who has the nicest personality and great customer service. Obviously the diner was packed for a Sunday but he didn’t stop moving to ask tables what they were missing, if they needed anything, how the food was, and just to chat in general. He wasn’t overbearing or anything but very pleasant and did a great job of ensuring we had a great breakfast.Overall our food was very good once it came out - a bit pricey but good to say the least! We will return for sure!Parking: There’s plenty of parking, however, you may not get a spot right in front because it is in a strip mall with other great shops!Kid-friendliness: They had a really simplified kids menu named after animals, which we thought was great! The restaurant is loud so you might not even know there’s kids :) again, it is a very tight/small diner so they won’t be able to run around and it may be hard to fit a high chair.Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair friendly, there may be 1 table for someone in a wheelchair but that would be a stretch. The restaurant is just too tight to fit a wheelchair. Theres also 2 doors to get through, which could be an issue.

We ordered water for our beverage. We were told bottled water only. We said that would be ok, thinking how much could bottled water be at the most $4, nope.. $8/bottle of water. What a rip-off. Would have appreciated a heads-up on that one, didn't have disclosure on the price until the bill came. I only ordered 3 eggs and 1 avacado w a water, the bill was $20! The 3 eggs were $10 w the avacado & the 1- bottled water was $8.

Food is great. Won’t lie. Service is ok. Owned by lovely people. But it’s cash only. It’s 2023. Are you kidding me? Yes, this place has its charm and I see why people like it. It’s fun. But Jesus Christ… get with the times. Such a hassle to go to the bank every single time just for breakfast. I mean who has cash on them anyways.

Just finished breakfast at Marilyn’s Cafe in Chester, NJ. We ordered two coffees and my husband had pancakes (that were good) and ham. I ordered eggs and bacon, home fries were soggy with a metallic taste.Also ordered potato pancakes which had VERY LITTLE potato in them and again a metallic taste. When I ordered the potato pancakes with sour cream and applesauce, the waitress informed me that if I wanted applesauce I need to pay for another whole meal. I asked if I could get a side of applesauce. Waitress replied ok.When the check came we decided never go to Marilyn’s again.The total was over $50.00!!!Marilyn’s charged $8.00 for two cups of coffee and my very small side of applesauce cost $5.50!!!We had a lovely dinner at a byob restaurant last night and paid less than this morning.Shameful to exploit patrons in this manner.Bye bye Marilyn’s forever
