When I lived in the area, I used to love going to Joe's. Went with my parents a bunch of times years ago and loved it. Very kitschy with good food and great service. They were also always packed. So when I drove by today I was saddened to see they closed. Loved that place and although it's been a moment, I miss them already.

We came here on Christmas for lunch and they opened at 1 pm. We had made a reservation but it wasn't busy when we got there at 1:15 pm. The food was delicious, but it did take a bit for it to be served. Jodi was fabulous and made our family feel so welcomed and taken care of. We loved the pasta. The noodles were tender with a garlicy creamy sauce that included tomatoes, basil, shrimp, and chunks of crab meat. It was so flavorful and definitely my favorite dish there. Their steampots are good for a single person, and we loved the garlic sauce on the Joe's Classic. Would come back for sure.

All dishes were described as very good by all attendees. I shared the crab jumbo bucket in raging Cajun sauce all was good except unfortunately the king and queen crab which was a bit fishy but all others were very good. Been awhile since been to Joe's so this was a pleasant reminder of a good seafood meal.

The restaurant was empty and the service was slow. The drinks took a really long time to arrive. And we had to send one back because the $14 drink was made incorrectly and the glass wasn't even 3/4 full. Ugh. The peel ur shrimp was peeled and over cooked. The waiter tried but I would never go back here. I feel like I wasted my time and $$.

THE CLOSEST JOE'S TO NYCMy mom has always been a fan of Joe's Crab Shack from the moment that I took her for lunch at their former Oceanside, NY location. So when she was given the choice of where to dine during her birthday month, she chose Joe's and we were on the road to Clifton. We arrived and were promptly seated. Though it had been a while since we dined here last, everything still felt familiar especially the decor. Even better, everything tasted familiarly good especially the drinks. We started off with JOE'S CLASSIC SAMPLER which is a combination of Crab & Shrimp Dip, Great Balls of Fire, and Crispy Calamari, served with tortilla chips. It definitely had something for everyone. Then everyone ordered their respective steampot which is really why I even paid the tolls. I keep it simple with STEAMED CLASSIC OLD BAY® flavor but did enjoy the samples from my sister's RAGIN CAJUN.Joe's is the OG of seafood boils; holding it down even before the recent explosion of seafood boil style restaurants. Thankfully, they also offer a menu full of other seafood options to please the masses. Don't miss having one of their cocktails that also come with souvenir cups if you're lucky.

We had a good waiter, he was attentive and nice , took time to explain things when it came to the menu. I appreciate him . He was an older gentleman named Jason I got the pasta with the sea food , the Sauce was pretty good you can taste the basil . My son had the fried sea food platter , I added a cluster of crap legs for 7,99 that's was a pretty good deal . We love the food and loved the service more

Food was prepared well and arrived hot. The fried fish & shrimp was nice and crispy but the fish had a fishy aftertaste. This was not true of the shrimp, fries or hush puppies. Our server was great!!

The service was amazing ! She saved the review ! She was approachable, knowledgeable, and over all happy. She checked on us and asked all the questions to ensure we were okay. She saved the experience.Other wise idk what happened w the level of food. It was “alright” and that’s sad because this was one of my favorites. My crab had tasted like water, the sauce I requested has tasted like water. . . People work hard for the money they earn and make a choice to spend it in selective places. Very disappointed on my meal , won’t be going back.

The service was a little slow on a Tuesday night and there were not a lot of people at all. Its casual dining and be prepared to get your hands dirty. They provide you with the necessary tools to cut the crabs. We had the snow crab bucket (garlic flavored), grilled salmon, and the steamer steam pot. The snow crab bucket was a little small for $50 and I didn't really taste the garlic flavor. The steamer steampot had mussels clams, shrimp, potatoes, corn, and a sausage but the seafood didn't really taste fresh. The grilled salmon came with broccoli, rice and had the most flavor. I'm probably not gonna go back here. FYI, extra side of rice cost $5 for 1 serving

New menu items. Portions on the smaller size but can't complain. Drinks were great and our server was awesome/personable.

Terrible service the staff must be smoking the green leaf. Their concept of time is unbelievable. I see why it was empty, used to be busy. Took us 2 1/2 hours for a meal. Any time you ask for something they will bring 30 minutes later. Don't go. stay
