Thanks for the ambiance, the great service and the delicious food.“

“Best Puerto Rican food I’ve ever had. Originally I ordered the Cuban sandwich but since it was close to closing there was no bread. The lady at the front was so helpful and made me the sandwich with plantain instead and it was GREAT. The chef also happened to find bread and made me another sandwich free of charge so I could experience it with bread. Service and food is 10/10 highly recommend.“

Taino's Kitchen On Wheels Puerto Rican • $$
920 Broadway, Newark - 5.6 miles

“I decided I wanted some Puerto Rican food before heading back to Maryland after attending a concert at Prudential Center. Looked online and found Taino's Kitchen. The food and ambiance were great. I tried papas rellenas, alcapurias, and pastelillos or empanadas. Great flavor and their mayoketchup was delicious. Me and my gf had the pernil with arroz con gandules. The pernil was very good alone. I do like adding additional sauces so I def added the pique and mayo ketchup to sauce it up some. We also ended up drinking Guanabana which was so good. For desert we ordered tres leches and the Flan de coco which were amazing. We decided to get 10 empanadas de carne for the road. Everything was great. Staff was friendly. If I am in the NJ, I will be coming back.“

Leo's Café & El Guame Restaurant Puerto Rican • $
598 Broadway, Newark - 6.28 miles

“Went here for breakfast and we are coming from 35 minutes away just to try their Puerto Rican breakfast and this place did not disappoint what so ever. The food came out fast and hot. We had (which l'II picture) two coffees, oatmeal (avena), ham and cheese sandwich (with the works) and a breakfast platter. This reminded me sooooo much of breakfast from the island. We enjoyed all of it and we will definitely come back out to try lunch & dinner food as well. But we wanted auth pr breakfast and that's exactly what we go. Not many around like this.I wish they would update the restaurant a little bit, it's a bit outdated and it has so much more potential for a nicer ambiance.“

La Esquina Del Coqui Puerto Rican •

Relleno De Papa Potato Ball

“This place took over a popular breakfast diner near Newark Airport and all signs now say "Cafe con Pan" outside. But inside, the 2-person cook staff was wearing "Esquina del Coqui" t-shirts. We ate a hearty portion of bacon and eggs, a light and well cooked potato ball stuffed with beef and some very good cafe con leche. They have lots of empanadas and pastries in a case, they bake custom cakes, and have some chafing dishes of meat and chicken stews. Didn't try that so can't speak to the main dishes. Very nice team and very welcoming. Lots of truckers coming in for takeout so assuming food is pretty good. Certainly cheap. Sidewalk seating available too.“
