Phenomenal quality for a great price, you'd pay 5-6$ more for this quality at other places.Only negative thing is I wish I found this place earlier. Highly

Softest bread, freshest veggies, generous portion of meats - can't ask for more! Highly recommend, always greeted with a smile and good vibes; the only thing better is the food!

Awesome tuna subs. Tuna is perfectly creamy and seasoned well. The gentlemen were very friendly and it's definitely no frills but solid, delicious subs and exactly what I was looking for!

It's been such a long time. I haven't been to Troops in over 20 years. I was an actually a regular at Troops predecessor back in the 70's which was Frills. The name has flipped a few times from Frills to Troops, back to Frills, then back to Troops as the ownership changed over the years. But I am extremely happy to say that the subs are as good as ever. Exactly as I remember them. Generous portions of meat, cheese and fixings on a sub roll with the perfect texture. Soft, but not too soft. Back in the day the rolls came from the Albodanza bakery. I'm not sure if they still do, or, even if Albodanza bakery still exists. The prices are extremely fair. The place itself is a bit of a dive and that is fine by me. I look forward to my next sandwich.

Billy makes the best subs in North Jersey. I can walk in and he knows just what I want! You cant get a sub so packed with meat and cheese anywhere!

If you want a quality blue collar sub with fresh ingredients and reasonable prices, this is your place. If you're looking for a bright, nicely decorated place to dine in and have a meal, this probably won't work for you.Don't miss out, though. Take it to go.

This was my first time in there since it was known as Frills. Boy has it changed atmospherically. The quality of the food has not changed; it's still quite good, and the price comparative to other establishments is still remarkably favorable, but this place is just not the same. First of all, don't believe that outside sign. The sign depicted Troops as selling burgers, Texas Weiners, and a few other things. Disregard it! The menu apparently has diminished down to primarily just subs. They're still good, but the overall atmosphere inside has changed. It's pretty much a race to get your order in, prepare it, and get on to the next customer. The head counter man seemed to be a bit nervous and anxious, but he did take pains to make sure he was getting the customers' orders correct, which he did. It just felt like I was being rushed. I like the place, but without the burgers and dogs options, I just don't feel comfortable.Vegetarian options: Not much here in the area of non meat optionsKid-friendliness: Rushed atmosphere. More of a "Get your food and get going" type place.Parking: Most likely you'll have to walk a distance due to parking spot sparsity.Wheelchair accessibility: You can get in and maneuver around.Dietary restrictions: They try to accommodate, but you must be specific with your order.

Classic American sandwich shop with a great selection and amazing bread, don’t forget to ask for your sand which to be put under the broiler to melt the cheese and add hot peppers. The owner is very friendly and always has classic rock music playing in the background.Vegetarian options: The cheese sub comes with American, provolone, Swiss and fresh mozzarella. I recommend adding lettuce, tomato, onion and hot peppers along with oil, vinegar, salt and pepper with honey mustard and mayonnaise. Ask to have your sandwich put under the broiler as well to melt the cheese.

Guy making sandwiches was dripping with sweat and surrounded by flies I wouldn't go there again if my life depended on it*

Rude as hell. I called asking if they have delivery because that's what it says here and they said no and hung up on me without even giving me a chance to place an order. He was apparently too busy to get a new customer and has now lost one.
