My boyfriend and I went here for a relaxing date night! The service was very good and the food tasted fresh! I got the Chicken Tinga Tostadas and they were tasty with the red salsa that comes with the chips!

Service was great. The guacamole was delicious. The chips tasted like they came out of the bag. Food was mediocre. Steak dish was tasty, however It was ordered medium and was served rare. Had to go back to be to cooked to medium. Chicken dish had no taste.

Got some takeout and it was slammin'. This immediate area was heavily due for some really good Mexican/Hispanic food. Looking forward to dining in.Year update: It's still the best in the area and I'm always excited to eat here!

Service was extremely slow. Food was HORRIBLE. My husband ordered a burrito with marinated pork, there was no meat inside just beans and rice.I ordered the mixta fajita, my steak was rubbery and tough, shrimp were under cook and chicken was dry. I told the waitress I had food allergy (Pepper) and specifically ask for no peppers, my food came out filled with peppers. I asked for sour cream, the sour cream had the viscosity of ranch dressing, very watery. The beans and rice were cold and thick. The bottle of hot sauce was old. This place was EXTREMELY disappointing! ABSOLUTELY no comparison to Las Esperanza! HANDS DOWN!Very Disappointing and not worth it!

We were looking for something new and Mexican is always at the top of the list. This BYO has a good vibe and a pretty expansive menu. Service was friendly but very spotty and folks who were seated after us were served before us. Chips and salsa were delivered but we waited 15 minutes to get our drinks. There were several servers working and we just got the luck of the draw. The empanadas were delicious, the guacamole appetizer was fresh and plentiful and the Mixto Fajitas were sizzling hot (but were served 5 minutes before the tortillas and sides). Overall, good food and we'll give it another try.

We got guacamole and fajitas. The guac was basically mashed avocados topped with cilantro, no onion, no garlic, no tomatoes, no jalapeno. The reasoning when asked about the recipe was that people might be allergic to all these ingredients... Really??? The fajitas had nothing but natural taste, peppers, meat, onions, very bland and the rib-eye meat was not the best quality (very chewy). All in all the food experience was not that good, we wont return.

Our server, Jose, was very personable and attentive. Our food was wonderful, and the black beans were the best I've ever had, as well as the mole! Delishous! And with the 30° temp outside, the restaurant was comfortable, making it a more enjoyable time. I hate being cold while having dinner!Looking forward to bringing friends our next visit!

We always eat the food before we catch a picture, but DEFINITELY the best Mexican food place in the area (and honestly even Philly).

La Catrina was a place I saw online, and we went with a large group of 9 for a birthday brunch for my fiancee. The food was pretty decent for the most part, but nothing stood out as an "OMG, I got to come back for this!" moment. That is okay, but I dropped some points because there were very "non-authentic" entrees, and the appetizer we got was the queso dip. It hardened, and it was just mush. Not very appetizing. We passed over it, but I have never seen queso like that. But everything else was pretty decent. The ambiance was good, but it was quiet, most likely due to the time of the week (Sunday afternoon). The service was excellent, and the prices were pretty good! Would I go back? Maybe, but I wouldn't be against it!
