We have been ordering dinner from Dinner in a Pinch for over 3 years now and we can't say enough great things about the delicious food and the wonderful staff! They make all of our favorites: meatloaf, pot roast, faked baked chicken, chicken francaise and cod - they are all amazing! With two demanding careers and not enough time to cook, I don't know what we would have done without them!

I was looking for something to eat for dinner. I didn't feel like cooking on a hot day. I opened up my Yelp app and saw that this place a some good reviews. I liked what they had on the menu and to go here for dinner. I remember this place used to be a bakery store. When I walked in, it still looked like a bakery store. The tables were clean. I saw a coffee station, cookies and models of cake. I was greeted by a gentleman at the register. I couldn't decide on what I wanted and he was able to help. I went with the meatloaf. I decided to dine in. They took their time to make it and it was really good. Everyone their was friendly and pleasant. They made sure I was comfortable. I'll come back and try the pot roast.

This was my first time getting food from them and let me tell you everything was so so good .I would highly recommend this place . My wife and I eat out a lot and this place is a real home cooked meal if that's what your are looking for . They will be seeing me a lot

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised by how great the food was and it genuinely tastes just like a home cooked meal. We had pot roast, chicken pot pie and several sides. All were delicious and that is saying a lot since we are both super picky! We work crazy hours and rarely have food in the house so we are crazy sick of the usual takeout and restaurant food. I will definitely be coming back and ordering meals for a few days so we can heat and eat I highly recommend this place for the busy people of this world who want some comfort food

I was so excited to get a healthy option for delivery. They were out of everything I wanted to order. Apparently I had an old menu and really old prices. When I got my food an hour later I saw the price increase. $14 for a big meatball ( their meatloaf) which is ridiculous even for Cranford. When I called to say I wasn't happy I was told, "honey go online and look at the menu" with an attitude! Certainly won't be recommending, no costumer service !

Every time that I've ordered from Dinner in a Pinch has been a great experience. The food always tastes incredibly fresh, and the portions are a great size. There's nothing better than stopping by on the way home and knowing that you don't have to cook. My personal favorite is the Chicken Francaise, with sides of Mac & Cheese and Mashed Potatoes.

Delicious home cooked meals to go in Cranford! Meatloaf is fantastic, all the side dishes are fresh and tasty. Favorites are mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, green beans, steamed broccoli and couscous. The chicken dishes are very good too. Very friendly staff. Make sure you grab a piece of carrot cake too! Highly recommended. Once a week spot for me and my family!

Had great numerous catering experiences, with authentic and tasty Italian fare, IN THE PAST from Dinner in the Pinch. Consumer alert: new owners now. Recently for holiday office parties we ordered trays of lasagna, meatloaf and eggplant rollatini from THIS Dinner in a Pinch. We ordered from the on line menu, still present from the talented LAST gracious woman chef/owner. Unfortunately, the lasagna was burnt on the bottom, not 7 layers as advertised, lacking mozzarella, had miniscule amounts of ricotta. The need for sauce and the overdone state of this lasagna rendered it dried up and unpalatable. The meatloaf was also very over done. Simply inedible and unacceptable. We unveiled mounds of heavy, dry and bland meat. The eggplant rollatini was passeble but mushy. Disappointing embarrasment. Feedback to the present owners was not appreciated AT ALL and met with denial and anger not apologies.

Real home cooking. We were too lazy too cook and found the perfect solution, Dinner in a Pinch. We called in our order were told to be there in 25 minutes to pick it up. We were near by so we walked in and took a seat at the little booth. This place is small, totally for take out only. Good for a cup of coffee and pastry if you're solo or don't mind standing. There's cakes and cookies all over the place since during the day this is a bakery. As we sat there we watched our food freshly being made. They ran out of the meat loaf since they make about 24/ day and when we called at 7:30pm there was no more left. So I settled for the Faked Baked Chicken which is boneless, skinless breast and thighs covered in breadcrumbs which is total comfort food. This pick comes with two sides I got the cucumber and tomato salad which I personal didn't like because it was just drowning in mayo and that's all I could taste. For my second side I got the mac and cheese and that was the best tasting. My husband ordered the Blarney Stones which are breaded potatoes mixed with cheddar cheese and ham. I thought these were ok, the description sounds phenomenal then once you eat them they just taste like potato. What we super loved was the chicken empanadas, they were super perfect with the right amount of meat and bread, fried to perfection. Can't wait to go back and try the beef and pulled pork ones. My husband got the crab cakes and he thoroughly enjoyed them. This place is a good replacement for home cooking. However, we did not choose the healthier options. There is salmon and grilled chicken breast available I guess we shall come back and review those at a later time.

This place is phenomenal. Chicken Francese is the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Salmon in lemon dill sauce is amazing as well. So is the meatloaf. Heck everything is good. I just don't get around to trying everything because I can't get enough of the above meals. They deliver and the staff is very friendly. I will be ordering from here A LOT.

A friend of mine gave me a gc when I was pregnant with our second daughter. What an awesome gift!! The food from here is delicious! It's as if someone cooked you a home cooked meal. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

I'm stopping by to write a review for the friendly owner that was just super nice and helpful! Hubby and I were wandering around downtown cranford after looking at a house nearby and we were starving! stumbled upon this place because I thought we can eat in here but nope, turns out its a take out service of home cooked food. So we asked the owner if he can recommend a good eat in place around there and he suggested many places even though they are his competitors! I will definitely order from this place when we finally get to move here to this charming town.

Went there last night for the first time with my boyfriend. We both thought the food was really good and that it was decently priced since you get not only ONE but TWO sides with your dish. I had meatloaf with mac and cheese and roasted sweet potatoes while my bf had the baked chicken, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. I can't wait to try the other dishes!
