The service was, at first, was spotty and sparse. Granted, it was also very busy. As in every table was filled. That is the usual here on the weekends. I think the food is good. I just don't think it is amazing. What it does have is nice charm and a loyal town following as a place that consistently provides the same quality of food that it always has.I just don't think of it as innovative or inventive. But for the standard breakfast and lunch faire that you would expect from a town luncheonette, it hits it's mark.Perfectly fine to go to on any regular weekend. But if you are going for "wow" factor.....I would look elsewhere

An exceptional meal and good atmosphere. I had a roast beef and French toast, among other additions and it was great. First time there...

Hands down the best egg sandwich in NJ. The homemade roll is amazing, eggs are fresh and they pile on the bacon. Servers are consistently friendly and attentive. All the food at Carvers is great (LOVE the homemade bread) but for whatever reason I never ordered the egg sandwich. Can't believe I've been missing it all these years.

I don't want anyone to know about my favorite breakfast place. So you won't see me writing about how great the food is or the wonderful wait staff or the fact that I eat here at least once a week. I won't mention that everything is freshly made and of the highest quality. You won't see me talking about all the amazing fresh breads they make every day. Please don't ask me about the best french toast I've ever had outside my own house.

One of the last hidden gems in Morris county, everything is home made, one of the best places to eat breakfast, different kind of home made breads. Everything is good in this place.Prepare to wait on the weekends but it’s worth.

The place is quaint, food is decent, and prices are fair, but it’s overshadowed by poor customer service specifically from the oldest salt pepper haired server that wears glasses named Annette. I have been dining at carver for years back when Kevin (best server) worked here and always brought along a friend or family. Every single time my guests and I have been waited on by Annette, she had a sour and dismissive attitude plus never checked on us after our meals were served. The first few negative experiences I chalked it up to her maybe having a bad day or being overwhelmed at work, but after years of her aloof behavior, I have come to accept that is who she is as a person. I visited carvers regardless of her to support local business and because the other waiters are courteous and attentive, but after today’s interaction we can no longer overlook her nasty behavior.Today I had my siblings with me and among them was my younger brother who is autistic and very soft spoken. Like clockwork, Annette arrived at our table annoyed like we were inconveniencing her, and asked for our orders. My little brother tried placing his order when she interrupted him saying, “yeah I can’t hear a single word you said”. He tried repeating his order while pointing to the menu and she cut him off again harshly asking, “you want the (order item) B?” to which he just nodded.I spoke up and asked her to be patient and speak kinder to him but she just rolled her eyes, let out a big sigh and asked for my order. She was completely dismissive and didn’t try to apologize for her nasty behavior with a kid. I have the interaction recorded in case she tries to deny any wrongdoing, but unfortunately you can’t share video on google.the unfriendly older waitress creates an uncomfortable/unpleasant environment and fails to understand customer service, this is something major for her to work on.

Was here for the first time and loved it! It's an old-school home cooked breakfast using fresh ingredients... like an old luncheonette from the 60s. Food was great, coffee was great, the servers were great. But don't expect a quick breakfast... it took a long time to get our food. But it was a busy Sunday morning and, as I said, the food is fresh and homemade (even the homemade bread) so WELL worth the wait. I highly recommend this place!!

Carver's is a little gem of a restaurant and easily our favorite breakfast place! Scratch-made diner classics, and incredible specials. They also bake all of their own breads that you can get as toast with your breakfast, or as a whole loaf to-go. Space fills up fast, so be prepared to wait if you're not there early!

I’ve lived in New Jersey for over a year and found this GEM en route to the Poconos and I am so glad I did. Any place with a “Bread of the Week” is worth checking out.Amazing food, had Northwest Omelette (onions peppers bacon and Swiss) wife ordered cheddar avocado and chicken omelette and my little one ordered French toast.Amazing service, will definitely be coming back.
