Walked in the doors and thought I was in the wrong place. No one at the front to greet you. The eating area was in the back. Food was ok. Not great. The staff was nice but the person that finally greeted us made me feel like we were an inconvenience. She seemed like she didn't like her job. It would not be my first choice of a place to have breakfast.

Open only for breakfast and lunch, Carol's Café is a Starbucks-sized office building cafeteria located in the lobby of 1 Tower Center Blvd, between the security desk and vending machine room. This cafeteria has a smaller salad bar than the one in Tower 2, but has a larger made-to-order sandwich and grill selection. Grab-and-go options include branded yogurt and canned soda from the open-air cooler display; granola bars, candy bars, and self-serve coffee; muffins, danishes, and bagels from the salad bar (during breakfast hours); and ice cream sandwiches from the mini-freezer by the entrance. Daily specials are posted daily on the sidewalk chalkboard outside and printed weekly on the paper fliers by the single cashier station. Credit card payments are processed using a small chip-enabled POS device. Catering and boxed lunches are available for corporate functions. Seating is available in the atrium, which has both stairs and a handicap-friendly ramp. Temperatures in the atrium tend to be on the cooler side because of the north- and west-facing windows in the lobby, but the tables closest to the windows are the coldest. Restrooms can be found past the security desk. Hilton guests and employees from 2 Tower Center can access the lobby via the walkways connecting all 3 buildings. Though in an unconnected building, guests staying at the nearby Holiday Inn Express can also saunter in for lunch (since no access credentials are needed to use the lobby). The simple lunch entrée options, which average $7 - $8, are adequately portioned for some people but barely filling for me. Unlike the hot foods from the cafeteria in Tower 2, almost all the hot foods here are either made same-day or on the spot, and so far I haven't suffered any gastrointestinal discomfort. Both hot and cold entrées are served in clear, plastic take-out containers (no trays or plates). For hotel guests and conference attendees whose visits don't already include a breakfast or lunch spread, Carol's Café is a wallet-friendly alternative to the Hilton's on-site Blossom restaurant and Starbucks.
