Been coming here since they opened...a long time ago... Went yesterday for the first time in a bit..price up product shrunk..there was enough cake in a cupcake to be basically a glorified mini muffin with a dalopof icing and the cookies are now 4.00 a cookie for a HARD smaller thick cookie..I know the economy hit us hard..but jeez..Disappointed..service though is always on par, the girls always take good care of you...as someone that's been a long time customer just sad for the changes definitely noticable now ..they do taste good

DO NOT TRUST WITH CUSTOM ORDERS!Went into the store to order some gender reveal cupcakes for my wife and myself. They called me an hour later about some questions on the order which we explained clearly. Picked up the order the next day and noticed once I got home that only 3 out of 6 cupcakes were not what we ordered. Somehow a cookie dough cupcake and peanut butter cupcake turned into a chocolate and red velvet cupcake.While talking about replacing the cupcakes to the correct ones the employee mentions the color frosting they will be filled with, ruining the gender reveal for me (thank god my wife did not hear). The manager then came on the phone trying to cover up their mistake saying I cut off her employee and that I heard incorrectly that she said Pink of Blue frosting. Employee mentioned on the phone "they will be filled with the **** frosting" to confirm the order.Decided to go to the Princeton location instead even though it was out of the way to get the correct cupcakes as this East Brunswick location does not know how to take an order correctly. Thank you Princeton for being understanding.

I don't visit this area too often and didn't notice the shops in this strip area until recent and I couldn't help myself and had to roll into this bakery shop. Nope, I don't regret on failing my diet either. I ordered their pistachio, red velvet, peanut butter, Oreo, chocolate, coconut cupcakes. Instead of eating all, I sliced it into samples and shared with the family. My favorite is the pistachio, only because my love for pistachio itself but all cupcakes are good and moist. Definitely coming back here again!

I ordered these as a novelty, because I found it on doordash for a last minute birthday celebration. They are very rich cupcakes, they said. They had some very interesting flavors. We ordered again for another occasion.I tried the gluten free ones myself, and they are not the best I've ever had, but they are still pretty good and I did order them on my own birthday. They have only vanilla and chocolate gluten free options and they come in a 4-pack each.

My expectations and hopes for this place have plummeted completely after today. I started buying from House of Cupcakes in East Brunswick since 2019. Personally, service here is only good when the owner/manager is around, she's super sweet to talk to. Otherwise, similar to the rest of the reviews under, the employees make you feel rushed or just want to "get you in and get you out." They don't have the nicest or welcoming tones when greeting or serving you. However I still came to this place once every 2 months because the cupcakes are good. Since I had such high regards for the place and their cupcakes since they won Cupcake Wars. (if you're familiar with the old show) So today, I decided to pre-order some cupcakes for my mother's 47th birthday. Mind you, I've only ever ordered in-store and never ordered anything through the phone. So it was my first time ordering something beforehand. Now going back to the service, this is what turned me off, the lady on the phone was passive aggressive and had an attitude with me. Other than that, she was patient with me, however when I asked if they were able to do certain designs, she responded to me as if I were stupid, kind of condescending. When i was completely patient and polite, when ordering. They made "vanilla frosting on chocolate cupcakes" sound like it was incapable for them. I didn't think much of this encounter. UNTIL, when I picked up my cupcakes the lady at the counter was mean and passive aggressive. Then I look at my cupcakes at home, they came packed all fucked up. A majority of the cupcakes were tilted and the frosting was smushed by the walls of the plastic container. On top of that, I requested happy birthday cupcake signs, which failed to make an appearance for some reason. And I paid 39 bucks for 12 fucked up cupcakes. You could get a 3x4 pull-apart cake from Wegmans for 32 bucks, which I should've done. Really disappointed with this HOC, this place used to be my go-to cupcake shop. But when I look at their rating, I should've known better. If you're going to order on the phone, or order in store, make sure to ask them not to fuck up your order.

Nope - regular plain vanilla^^^ too frustrating for the price of these cupcakes - from someone who loves both banana cream pie and coconut cakeIf I had known these two cupcakes did not come with real icing on top I would have never got them- at least real icing would have made it more enjoyableThe shop is superrrr cute - so hope whoever is in charge of recipes improves this for prices being chargedThe cupcakes with real icing look like layers (I now know the cool whip ones look like a dome shape versus the layers ) —- so just pay attention to this

Very disappointed, ordered 3 dozen cupcakes and when we picked them up they lopsided like the order was rushed. Also ordered 2 vegan cupcakes that we asked to be separated and were not. I thought when you pay for a upgraded product that's what you would receive I guess I was wrong never again will we buy from you again.
