Classic American Chinese. Really not a lot else to say. I think they are still consistent after all these years. My dad's favorite is that they expertly wrap the mushu pancakes for you into the perfect little pockets of chinese deliciousness. Service is very friendly.

I just showed for a 7PM reservation that my girlfriend made a couple days ago. The line was out the door. I got close enough to hear that a woman had a 6PM reservation and around 7PM was told that she'd be waiting another 30 minutes. Another person told me that the restaurant was not honoring reservations. It blows my mind that a restaurant cannot figure out that when a person makes a reservation they should have a table ready at that time. If they chose not to take reservations, that would be fine.

Old-school Chinese restaurant 1012 tables, serve you fried noodles and hot tea Restaurant was full on a Thursday night Got takeout for four people, combos and appetizers and soup Everything tasted good Sesame chicken was a different color than what I'm used to, but tasted great Pupu platter comes in that old tinfoil lined red and white bag I will definitely return to this Chinese restaurant They had several awards over the last decade for best Chinese in the county

Loved this strip mall Chinese joint. The service was friendly. I loved the food. The general tso's chicken combo was so good. It came with fried rice and wonton soup. My boyfriend had the happy family and loved it. The food was fresh and authentic Chinese. Loved the complimentary noodles and tea. Highly recommend.

Great food and service. Complementary tea and crispy wontons. Would visit again. Sesame Chicken

Had take-out and we were very disappointed. The Wonton Soup was like dishwater and the wonton's were mostly dough with very little meat inside. The Bbq Pork Chow Fun was the blandest dish I have every tasted. The pork was dry and the fried rice tasteless. The noodles were white, no sauce used at all. We use to like to come here for lunch, but after they re-opened it is just not the same.

Terrible service only two people waiting tables. Handling takeout and taking money. Food was not the same egg roll was gummy, General Tso burnt taste. Had stomach pains all night. The decor is filthy. I had high hopes with the grand reopening but it still looks like the same dusty place with terrible food.

The Golden East Garden has reopened under the same family ownership. I've been going there for over 20 years and the food and service are excellent. The restaurant is spotless and decorated tastefully. It's great to see a small family business back to service the area. They are the best. Did I mention the reasonable prices and large portions?

I had been coming to Golden East for over 20 years and was disappointed when the restaurant owners retired. The new owners did not last long, and the restaurant closed. I was in the shopping center today and saw a “Grand Re-Opening” Banner across the restaurant. I parked my car and walked in to be greeted by the new owner, Ann’s sister who worked there for years. I had a lunch special and the food was as tasty as before. Before closing, Golden East was rated as the number 1 restaurant in East Brunswick. The food is excellent and the prices are low.

I really like the food. BUT I wish they would update this place. The curtains have been up for 20 years plus. And the rugs look really dirty. They should put some of the profits into making this place look cleaner

I was not disappointed. The menu has all of the classic dishes and at a reasonable price. It may actually be the best restaurant in town.

Small and unassuming with outstanding food and competent service. Would recommend highly. Would return in a heartbeat.

It's a great place. Wanted to go today nuts there is a building warning on the door and there is also an UNSANITARY warning on the door as well.

Shame on me I have lived in Central NJ for over 20 years and I have never visited Golden East Garden even though they are always rated as a central jersey best.Sit down restaurant, tablecloths, tea and crispy noodles on the table.Reminds me a lot of Chinatown NYCThe food was excellent, triple delight was prepared spicy and requested, the portion was healthy and the shrimp were fresh. The chicken with eggplant was cooked as perfectly as it can get, spicy and flavorful. The boneless chicken was another winner.Give them a chance, I think you will like it.
