I was excited to try a new Portuguese restaurant. I grew up in Newark and there is nothing more delicious than food that brings you back home. Service was good, clean, nice people. I ordered Portuguese pork picadinho and it didn’t taste authentic, the classic flavors were missing. The shrimp garlic also fell short.I was told that Portugalo BBQ was sold and maybe that is when the flavors were lost.

Moved out of town 3 years ago and decided to stop by with my family for dinner since we were in the area. What a HORRIBLE idea. I ordered a steak sandwich with cheese, onions and peppers. I got a greasy sloppy mess with a thin steak that covered BARELY half the bread. I literally ate a cheesy onions and peppers sandwich that was dipped in grease. I cannot believe a single person would think it was okay to serve that. Nothing was good and place was filthy. I'll never return.

I never like to leave reviews because I'm in the business but don't tell me that this is Portuguese food when it's not even close to being Portuguese.It's my fault because I should've known when I looked at the menu and they didn't even have the Portuguese names on the dishes they were passing as Portuguese dishes..So if you want Spanish food this is the place...I will never not recommend....

I used to come to this place quite a lot and moved out of the area to be closer to FDU in Teaneck. Before, the portions? Unreal. Now? Petite. Just because you give me a TON of bland rice and beans, doesn't make up for the lack of portion with the chicken or the ribs. Flavor is really poor with the sides. The desserts are clearly bought from a store. They taste like they're frozen out of a box. Communication is an issue as well and was not happy with the cleanliness of the kitchen which is open air. Food takes FOREVER. Waited 45 minutes for lunch. Had 1 other table in there. Long lunch, bland flavor on sides, store bought desserts and reduced portions with prices increased (see can of soda) means solid 1 star. There are other places in this area that are pretty good. Sorrento's for a sandwich or Romeo n Juliette for some pizza and Italian.
This is my favourite restaurant in New Jersey. Their octopus is amazing and the homemade piri piri sauce elevates every single dish.

The food was delicious. You can actually taste the fire wood they use. The portion of food are great. My favorit by far was the paella and the beef empanada.

This is a small place with tons of charm. They have a few tables inside to eat as well as some outside. The food is season well. You can actually taste the firewood they use. My favorite by far was the season paella. They have a good variety of empanadas. I had beef and Buffalo chicken. They both were good with enough meat inside. You get a good amount of food. The staff is so friendly. I can wait to come back and try other dishes.
