Don’t ever go to this place. Went last night as a party of 13. We were seated at 2 hibachi tables. One of the hibachi chefs was not good, he didn’t perform any of the normal tricks, and everyone’s food was terribly cooked.Beef was not chewable (I guess this is the quality of the meet), salmon so over cooked it was hard and inedible. Second chef was doing better, he was performing all the tricks. But the problem was that later that night my husband and my daughter, who was eating steak from the second “performing” chef, became vomiting because of the spoiled or not proper cooked beef. Do not ever go here, the performance doesn’t cost the consequences of being sick from the food…

We have been here many times before. We had a reservation and sat right down. We ordered dinner and waited a while for a cook. They are definitely overly busy for the amount of staff they have . The cook we had was ok but not much fun compared to the other times we have been there. I think he was in a rush, which stunk because it's not cheap, and our 7 year old was excited for the show. Our food was only ok, not as "seasoned" as usual. It was kind of bland. When you go to hibachi, you want that garlic, butter, soy sauce flavor ! During dinner, our waiter didn't come back to check on drinks. We had to call over another gentleman. They did offer free Edamame while we waited and did apologize (and honestly, that wasn't really the issue bc we were chatting and enjoying our family time, but if you go on a Friday night with little ones a 45 min wait for a cook can be long. I do hope they get back to how they used to be and that this was just a bad night. We all have them . We will go back and hope this was just one of them nights.

A grab and go experience for me. We were passing by our way to DC and stopped for a quick lunch, ended up taking it to save some time so we didn't experience the whole diner experience. But the poke bowl was good and the staff attentive.

Not the best experience my family of 8 had at the hibachi dinner Sunday night for my son’s birthday. Been here many times for celebrations and this last experience was below average. The chef had no personality whatsoever. No greeting when he arrived, no “tricks” during the show, no effort even with the onion volcano. He just added no fun to the dinner. Not the experience we were expecting. Then why even ask how you would like your filet prepared. Three of our guests said “medium rare” and it was cooked medium well. Also, first time ever the noodles were prepared and plated first, then the rice, then we waited for our meat to be cooked. So the noodles and rice were already eaten for if we waited they would have been cold. Then the vegetables came at the very end! Usually everything is timed better to eat all together as a meal. For almost $300 this will definitely be our last celebration here!! Plus the restaurant was freezing. The elder family members were so uncomfortable cold. I spoke to a manager on the way out, and he was explaining that there is a language barrier with the Chef but I don’t see how that affected him doing the standard hibachi tricks that you expect. ??

Don’t ever go here. Went last night as a party of 2 with a reservation. Upon arrival no one knew anything about said reservation and we had to wait awhile to be seated. We were seated at a hibachi table with 6 other people who had clearly already ordered and had been waiting for sometime as they were all visibly angry we were seated with them. We were rushed throughout the entire meal as the other people at our table were visibly and audibly upset. The hibachi chef was not good, he didn’t perform any of the normal tricks, and everyone’s food was terribly cooked. Beef served raw that had to be sent back, salmon so over cooked it was hard and inedible, lobster also over cooked to the point it was rubbery and inedible. Upon receiving the check there was an 18% gratuity included for a party of 2 on literal garbage service and food. Later that night one of us became physically ill due to the improperly cooked meal. Do not ever go here, it’s overpriced and the food will literally make you sick. We will never return.

Mahzu tried but we won't be back anytime soon. They were busy, we didn't have a reservation so we sat in the dining room rather than a hibachi table. (No issues with that, great to see a busy restaurant.) Upon being seated another couple was sat at a booth across from us, and they had a screaming toddler. We patiently waited for the waiter to come take our drink order, as the toddler kept screaming out in bursts. Eventually the waiter took our drink order, and a few minutes later dropped off our drinks. We tried to be patient but the child continued to scream so my husband asked if we could be moved. The host stated they had a no show at a hibachi table and would seat us there. We gladly accepted. We sat at the table at 6:25. Another family was already seated. They had been there since 6pm. At 6:40 no one had been by to take a drink order, greet us, etc. There were only two chefs cooking and is was apparent they were really short staffed. The other family went to the host to see if someone would be tending to our table as they had already been sitting for 40 minutes. The manager paid a visit to our table apologized, said drinks would be right out someone would take our order, and offered a 10% discount. True to his word service picked up from then on. Throughout dinner we could still hear the toddler in the other dinning room, crying and throwing tantrums. (Not the restaurants fault, shame on the parents for not taking the child outside). There are 16 hibachi tables and to have only 2 or 3 chefs simply is not enough. Hopefully they can get more staff. We tipped our chef separate from the tip left at the table b/c we felt the person cooking should have gotten a better portion of the tip that was left. On the menu it states, parties of 2 (yes two) or more will automatically be charged a 20% tip and that the tip is shared equally among all the staff. We always leave 20% or more, but found it very odd to see an automatic charge of parties of 2 or more. Food was good, portion was plentiful. We didn't get 10% off our bill, but we weren't worried about that.

Had a wonderful meal at Mazu it was quite tasty. My only complaint about the place time and time again in the winter months It is literally like eating outside. It’s that cold. When you ask why they don’t put the heat on they give you an answer that makes absolutely no sense they point to the hot grill as if people would be sweating to death sitting next to it. So if you’re ready to have a great meal and you don’t mind wearing a winter coat, this is the place to go for hibachi.

Got the steak hibachi dinner and the salmon hibachi dinner. The steak and salmon were both extremely flavorful and were cooked just right. The hibachi dinners each came with a small bowl of soup, a small bowl of salad, 2 shrimps, fried rice, fried noodles, and fried vegetables. The portions of the teppanyaki food items were very large! I went there hungry and could barely finish half of my plate. The "show" part of the hibachi was rather lackluster. They did the onion volcano and the thing where they have you try to catch some vegetable pieces in your mouth, but the onion volcano was very short/small and we didn't see other standard tricks like the egg tossing. Our chef was very nice and friendly though. Service was good throughout the meal- employees and chefs were very engaging and checked in periodically. The wait at the start was a bit long, especially given the hibachi grill section of the restaurant was essentially empty besides one other party finishing the last of their dinner. It was later explained to us that they were waiting to see if other people would show up (the setup inside is multiple seats along a counter/table that stretches around the grill, so different parties could be seated at the same table/grill). It was very quiet when we went, but made sense given that it was Superbowl Sunday and most people were probably otherwise occupied. Overall, a good place for very yummy hibachi/teppanyaki food. Come for the food, not for the show. Also fyi there's an auto-gratuity of 20% for parties of 2 or more and a $7 sharing fee.

This place is absolutely spectacular. It’s one of my favorite places to go, and the chef is absolutely amazing. Everyone there is fun and the food is delicious! I would definitely recommend this place.
