A cozy long-time Edison restaurant that has had a change of ownership within the past few years, but the bread and butter of diner experience is still there. Coffee is a bit bland but has free refills, and the western omelette and chicken wrap were great. The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy, so definitely no complaints there. The egg and sausage sandwich was a pretty typical sandwich. Our waitress was a sweet young lady who was very attentive to us. Overall, still a solid restaurant option when you've got a hankering for diner food.

I have been coming here since 1998 and have always loved whatever I ordered until today. The fact that the parking lot was empty should have been my first clue. The quality and portion of the food was lacking. It will no longer be my go to breakfast spot. The omelet was luke warm and marginal at best. Maybe one day I will try them for lunch but it won't be anytime soon

From Staten Island to Edison for breakfast no more! So disappointed! The omelette shrunk! The grits tasted like they opened a single serve package; they were actually pretty nasty. Coming for decades with my cuz from Islin. Oh well,bye bye Edison Family Diner.

I hadn't been there in a long while "" and it seems to be under new management then I waited about 10mins before someone even asked if I needed assistance " when the man finally came I looked at him and walked out that could explain why it was completely empty except one customer sitting down!!!

I wanted to give this restaurant a chance, many chances, however I cannot. It’s primarily the lack of professionalism. The “new” owners are not so new and have been owners for years. It was not until they were forced to step in as hands on owners that they started being present in their restaurant. We used to come in to eat a few years ago where there was no owner on site, no manager, not even a host at the front register. Not until the restaurant was obligated to be cleaned up did things start to get cleaned up and run properly. Looking through the comments and responses from the owner, it is disturbing. How unprofessional to put blame on 2 former employees for “running the place down” when YOU are the owners. Take your own responsibility. Almost every response to a negative review is about “previous owners.” It’s been years. We have dined in here several times since and ordered take out. The food is good, which is why we still have ordered or came in 2x a month. What disgusted me are the replies to your customers on reviews. You actually told a client on here to talk to your marijuana dealer and get new weed. That’s unacceptable. Please do better.Also, a small suggestion. It may be good to offer a larger children’s breakfast menu. When I ordered a few weeks ago on the phone, the person told me you had silver dollar pancakes or a single egg. Then options of cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, pasta were offered at 9am.
It was really nice. The service was good and the food also was good. The only down part is that it closes like at 3:00

Used to come here at least once a week. First time back since remodel. Completely lost it's charm and drastically downsized the menu. Ordered the Jersey burger which was very good, and potato salad? on the side. It wasn't good. Potato's were very hard (dare I say raw?) and sliced as thin as potato chips with skin on. The dressing tasted like sour cream with dill, which would have been great on a cucumber salad. The coffee was pretty bad, also. Was there about 11 am and the coffee was heavy and it took a bunch of creamers to lighten it up and make it drinkable. I like robust coffee, but this was not it. Service was good. I also noticed how empty the parking lot was. Typically, in the past, no matter when we would go there, it was packed..."standing room only". Will probably give them another try, but skip the coffee and potato salad!

1st time I'm went food was good service not so good. I went back a week or so later and food went downhill fast. New owners took it over not sure if the same cook is there menu that was huge is 1 page on both sides ..that's it! Nothing to write home about. The owner replied to my review he wanted to know what food I'm talking about..hold onto your hats! Eggs and home fries and rye toast that was hardly toasted...can't get easier than that..no worries I'm definitely not returning ..there's other restaurants that put this place to shame..sad because with the old owners food was great..putting a coat of paint on the walls in my opinion does not make it a great restaurant ..like I said 1st time was good

The Country Fried Steak breakfast was amazing, the best I have ever had! The steak was so tender and outside so crispy and the gravy over it was unbelievable! And the plate was so FULL I had to take most home, that's ok I will finish it tonight. It was wonderful!
