Have been to royal Alberts for many functions and food has always been good . Have visited Shabri Resturant around thrice I think and they always have some awesome chef's special . Last night it was an amazing dinner on a weekday ! We had chicken chops very uniquely made and amazing was gujju dish rotla with ghee , loni ( kind of butter ) , jaggery and spicy chutney . It was an absolute delicacy .. must try!!! Other food was good too. Service was nice . Very friendly .

The moment I came into this restaurant, I felt that this restruant would be a fine dining experience. Thus based on my first instinct, I presumed that the food and service would be up to the standard- the one that the reviews have set. However, to my suprise I spent exactly 1 hour 10 mins for all of my food except appetizers. The palak paneer was like saag paneer, very bland and oily. The rest of the food was the same. The worst part was when I informed the owner about our long wait, based on the axiom "time is money", he simply acted like he cared about our feedback.

For me the food was delicious and service was very nice and helpful to me. A waiter was willing to explain and help with meal choosing. I arrived late so I was happy they cook till 11pm. I really enjoyed it there.

I was invited to try this place and give it a chance. I did and I don't regret it. After reading the reviews I was nervous, expecting to be disappointed. It was a Thursday. I arrived at 7:30pm. While walking downstairs I was still somewhat on the fence about trying the place because the space was so large and eerily quiet. I found the door leading to the restaurant. The restaurant is housed in a massive banquet hall. Upon entering I find its somewhat dimly lit, not at all crowded. We were greeted immediately and seated closer but not too close to other guests. The owner came by the table to say hello and make small talk. He had some recommendations and so we went with that. He was very hospitable and the waiters were prompt when he asked them to wait on us. Everyone that arrived was greeted in the same manner. As it got later, more and more people arrived and all were Indian. That's important because one tends to be critical of ones own cuisine. The owner sent out an appetizer comprised of 4 different types of seasoned Indian style chicken. I am not Indian, all were flavorful and not overwhelming at all. That was followed by some shrimp. We ordered wine which came quickly. The meal is served in a manner that felt like family dining, it wasn't presumptuous at all. It wasn't "fancy" either. The food is brought out on plastic roll away carts - functional, nothing more. The location was clean though somewhat dated and of an interesting decor. I personally love Indian culture and decor but there was a combination here that was somewhat confusing to me. Entrees were brought out about 9pm. We were kept in suspense and busy eating the appetizers. Dinner certainly didn't feel rushed but it didn't feel slow either. It was a "take your time, feel at home" while you eat feel. We found the pork chop to be absolutely fantastic. The chicken tikka masala was also good. Overall, a flavorful dining experience in a very comfortable environment. Afterward we were offered a tour of the banquet halls. Breathtaking, a must see. The exterior is so deceiving, the place is gorgeous. Thank you Mr. Jasani.
