I just can't believe what I saw in this review, especially the response from the manager... Wow.

Hands down one of the greatest Chinese restaurants in the Edison area. They’re so popular that on weekends there’s at least an hour long line out the door, but you have to reserve the seats in-person. 10/10 on the food and the atmosphere is always hustling and bustling. Enjoy!

Legit love coming here every time I come back and visit. Which kind of sucks because the only time I get to eat here is when I’m in NJ. Hopefully in the near future they plan on opening a location in NYC.

Tasty moment is a hot spot that is worth all the hype. The soup dumplings are light, fresh, and bouncy. My picky mom and i think about these soup dumplings a lot. Some menu favorites so far are the spare ribs, crispy pork chop, sesame noodles and pork soup dumplings.

Why does a restaurant refuse to take reservations? One of the biggest reasons is that they want to create fake hype. Does this restaurant worth the hype? Absolutely not. The crowd who comes here is heavily under the influence of collectivism culture: if that person says it’s good, it best be good. The food portion is embarrassing and the food quality is barely passing. This place is not even hygienic, the floor is filthy, sticky and slippery; the toilet is a janitor’s dirty storage room. At the reception, the guy in a luxury bomber jacket with tattoo on the forearms is horrendously arrogant, the girls who assign you the seat with unfitting makeup in mini skirts are rude too.Tasty Moment? Zero taste and no memorable moment here.

Must go place for authentic Shanghai style Chinese foods . My entire family loves it . One of the major reasons my kids fly three hours back home from universities during spring breaks .

First off as someone who has worked in a Chinese restaurant and who is well versed in the Chinese cuisine as well as part of the Chinese community, the food is okay. I’ve heard a lot about this restaurant being recommended online but was disappointed with the aesthetic and taste of the food. What pushed me to give this restaurant a one star was the manager of the restaurant. I had dined in with my boyfriend close to closing time and we were one of the last tables there before clean up and as the waiter left to get the receipt he accidentally bumped into the table dropping a container. The manager picks it up and then throws it aggressively on the floor disturbing the entire restaurant not to mention the tension in the air between the staff. He then repeatedly starts cursing at him in mandarin saying very inappropriate things. I was very disappointed to see such a scene in front of my own eyes and felt heartbroken for the waiter. When the place was about to close the manager then smokes a cigarette inside by the front desk. Just wanted to share this with the public to know that such “a great restaurant” suffers from work abuse and in general was not that amazing as it’s so called to be. However besides the manager the staff was very respectful and friendly.

The gratuity should be based on the pre-taxed amount. NOT post-tax amount.

Came in on a Saturday at around 2 pm for a belated LNY family lunch for our table of 7. It was really busy at that time and there was still a line after we left at around 3:30. Here is everything we ordered:-Crab soup dumplings - these were really good. They came out piping hot and very soupy on the inside. It has more crab meat than most other soup dumpling spots-Pan-fried pork buns - I normally don’t love pan-fried pork buns but these were essentially almost like a fried version of the soup dumplings. I usually eat a bite of this and abandon it but here, I ate a whole thing-Scallion pancake - these were only okay. It was a little too thick and oily-Scallion oil noodles - these were kind of bland but some chili oil/hot sauce fixed that issue-Tong Ho with dried tofu and beans - I had never had this dish before. I liked the texture of the dried tofu. They were very thin malleable strips, almost like a noodle version of tofu. But I didn’t love the tong ho or beans. The beans kind of taste like edamame but mealier-Duck in brown sauce - the duck was dry-Wonton soup - wontons were good. I also appreciate they don’t just dump some wontons in MSG broth. The broth also had seaweed and egg in it-Sauteed string beans - a classic. You can’t go wrong with the sauteed (aka fried) string beans-Deep fried yellow fish with dried seaweed - this was another dish I had never tried before and it ended up being one of my favorites. The fish had a light and crispy coating, and the fish itself was cooked perfectly. It comes with this special salt you’re supposed to dip it in and that really took the dish over the top-Crispy garlic spare ribs - the flavor was good but could have used more salt. Perhaps I should have used the salt from the fish. Meat was a little dry-Sauteed pork rice cake - rice cakes were cooked perfectly but overall, the flavor was a bit bland. I should have used some of the hot sauce on this-Beef with tomato sauce rice - this was another favorite. This also comes with perfect tendrils of egg in the gravy. I would probably be happy just eating the eggy sauce with some riceOverall, it was a great meal. I wasn’t a huge fan of the meat only dishes/apps but I mostly enjoyed everything else. It’s a little further than I would normally care to venture but if I’m ever in the area, I would definitely dine here again.

DELICIOUS! Waited 30mins for a table for 2 at 7pm on a Monday night, which was no problem at all. You can put in your contact info and walk around the strip mall/nearby cute bakeries and stores while you wait. When we ordered, food came out very quickly as ready, and everything was delicious. We shared 4 different foods and the total came to $73 INCLUDING tax and tip! My favorite was the string beans. So many menu options and everything looked delicious as I peeked around to different tables, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit— just be prepared for a possible waitlist if you go during peak dinner hours.
