This is a very good old school diner. I've been coming here for years. They are always courteous and the food is reliable. I was in the mood for grilled chicken with honey mustard on a roll. It wasn't on their menu as that but they were more than happy to make it for me. They have a number of daily specials and they are different all the time so you can be a regular without getting bored.

It’s a shame that I have to write such a negative review but this is important. I have been going to Elmwood Park diner for over eight years. All of my family used to love this place and it was our go to diner. However, there was a huge situation that happened there today and it’s truly unacceptable.I stressed to the waitress that I am a vegetarian, she knew this, I ordered a veggie burger wrap, and she had the nerve to bring me a turkey burger, which I didn’t know till I have already took three bites and had to spit it out. I have not eaten meat or fish or any animal product in over eight years. If you are vegetarian or vegan, you know how important this is. then on top of this, the waitress comes back saying it’s my fault. Sorry, my bad, MY BAD?!?!?!?! She was very unprofessional and truly did not care that she screwed up the order.And then on top of it, the manager on staff had the nerve to still charge me for the unsweetened iced tea that I took two sips of and charged my wife for her meal, even though we had a pack up and leave since I was so sick and distraught.I am very disappointed in the staff, the least you could’ve done was comped the bill after the thousands of dollars that my family and I have spent over the years at this place.Be super careful if you’re vegetarian or vegan because they are not careful with the orders nor do they care if they mess it up.I’m writing this review in the parking lot after I have just thrown up outside. This is not a situation of a messed up order, to someone like me who is a vegetarian/vegan this is a huge mistake. BEWARE!
