If you're looking for custard, I think Rita's is your only game in town. And they do it deliciously!

I found this location last week and I was so thrilled to find a Rita's that had my three favorite flavors. I was so thrilled that I went there twice last week and today was my third time. The other two times I had no issue, today however, I had the displeasure of being serviced by the owner "Pablo". This man was disgustingly rude, unprofessional and should never deal with customers let alone have a business dealing with customers. I explained to him that I wanted three flavors of ice and one flavor of custard. I explained that I wanted black cherry ice, coconut ice, chocolate custard, chocolate ice and chocolate custard. I asked him to even out the flavors of ice and I explained to him that I wanted more ice than custard. I'm asked him for large so what I requested could be accommodated in the large cup. He haphazardly threw black cherry ice in the cup and then coconut ice and then chocolate custard. I was trying to explain to him that I wanted more black cherry and coconut ice as he had only put in a little but he was so rushed and not listening to me that he was preparing my order the way he saw fit. He told me that he understood what I wanted and told me that he would put more blackberry and coconut ice on top of the chocolate custard but that was not what I wanted. I asked for it a specific way. He began yelling at me in the store, which is small might I add, in front of several customers. I asked him why he was yelling and asked if that's how he deals with his customers. He said that he was giving me what I wanted and I explained to him that he was not and that I didn't not want black cherry ice on top of chocolate custard and that's why I asked him to add more black cherry and coconut ice before he added the custard. He continued to yell at me especially after I asked him to re do it because it was not what I asked for. He said, "NO, I'm not doing it again!" This guys was not doing me a favor I was paying for a product and he wanted to give it to me the way he wanted to give it to me and not the way I asked for it. I walked out of the store after asking him who was in charge and what his name was and him informing me that he was the owner and his name is Pablo. This guy is a horrible, rude, miserable human being and should not have contact with the public. After a hard day of work, in my business suit, entering his premise to get a cool snack I was treated like a piece of crap. I don't know how long this business has been there but if he is in fact the owner, I don't see it being there long with his nasty attitude, disgusting disposition and unacceptable customer service. Rita's really should screen their franchise owners better because "Pablo" from the Englewood, NJ, location has brought down Rita's reputation in my book.

Great tasting ice cream, service isVery good, hospitality & greetingsWas pleasant. Must wait patiently on line, outside the store. They observe Social Distancing & mask wearing. The ice cream is worth the wait. The store is located off Palisades Ave & Van Brunt in a mini mall. Parking may be tough in the mini mall, try the street. Enjoy Buen Appetit.

Visited Rita's Englewood location for the first time during COVID. Due to it being a smaller store, safety measures were in place by only allowing 3 people inside at a time. No mask, no entry. I ordered a Gelati which consists of custard as a base and your desired Italian ice in the middle with more custard as a finished topping. I have a thing for chocolate Italian ice so I ordered that with a twist custard. It was good but tasted like something was missing, couldn't put my finger on it..

Monday Late Afternoon (4pm) First time ordering from this location. I received a 10% discount for checking in! Got 2 smalls and realized a small is actually a big serving of Italian ice when it's 50F and raining outside. The blue raspberry flavor tasted kind of funny - couldn't put my finger on it, but wouldn't order it. The mango was good though, and I'd probably stick to mango if I ordered from here again. Store was empty when we got there; only 3 people allowed inside at a time, but within 5 minutes of leaving the store, we saw two other people pick up orders.
