Absolutely absurd experience! Our membership had expired, which I had every intention of renewing... But didn't have the cash to do so today... and we needed an 18-pack of Pure Leaf tea... So, I went in and explained it to one of the associates up front, who seemed like he would be happy to help, and make a one-time courtesy exception for me... He asked a brunette, female associate to help him, and she said she would help me out, but she had another customer to attend to... And she asked me to give her a moment... Then, another female associate came up, and started asking me a million questions... And she said that no one would be able to help me, and ultimately, I would have to pay 20% more. I even told her that wasn't very consistent with what was previously told to me by the other 2 associates. Nothing. No apology. So I paid the $3.40 more for the 18-pack of Pure Leaf tea, as a surcharge for not being a member... And now, I am NOT going to renew my membership. I'll take my business over to Costco. I've spent thousands of dollars at BJ's over the years, and they want to bang me out for $3.40 more? Ok. You don't need me, I sure as hell don't need you... Not the least bit recommended to anyone. Horrible!

I have to share what an amazing person/manager Shawn was at the voorhees BJs on route 73. He was so kind, so understanding he truly helped me in that moment with such grace and I couldn't be more thankful. The situation I was in late that evening with the confusion on orders and times. But Shawn came to the rescue and i just went to give him such a huge shout out! To the rude guy at the front who screamed at me for no reason as I explained myself to the lady standing there as I walked in trying to make long story short and he was the meanest that I legit was held back tears and didn't respond because he's my elder. I hope you treat people with kindness whoever you were this late Sunday evening! Thank you shawn!!!

Bjs Wholesale in Flemington, NJ had zero assisted checkout isles open. I proceeded to check out at a self assist isle. As I checked out and had various difficulties with coupons being accepted, products being recognized, etc., three hapless and unhelpful Bj Wholesale employees stood within 10 feet offering no assistance. After struggling for a period of time I asked one of the three for help. She stated that I was in self assist and that she would not help. it is ironic that the only reason I was in self assist was because there were no regular cashier isles open. it is absolutely no wonder as to why this store is consistently empty versus the Costco one mile down the road.

Horrible customer service. I was having difficulty with the self checkout as three Bjs employees stood within 10 feet of me and offered no help. I asked for assistance as the self checkout kiosk failed to recognize certain products. One of the female employees stated that she could not help because I was in the self checkout area. I was shocked as to her response. No wonder Costco just down the road is packed and this store is consistently empty.

Very poor customer service. They have a reputation of giving consumers inaccurate data.

So they had a floor model laptop for sale. I specifically asked an associate if I can purchase this laptop and she said yes. I left and drove 45 minutes to return to the store to buy the laptop. I spend 15 minutes helping the associate unscrew it from the security stand. Then they ask if I can came back and pick it up and they give me their number to call before I come. I call them and they tell me they can’t sell me the laptop. No other offer, no explanation, nothing!

They bold face lie Update.... after wasting a few hours of my time the manager Anthony had caused. The manager Rob on Tuesday sold me the laptop at a great deal

If you are looking for a quieter alternative to Costco, but still the same savings and ability to shop in bulk, this is an excellent option! I've heard rumors this a smaller training store for their larger locations. Not sure if it's true, but they do seem to have less inventory, but I don't mind since they have what I need. And it's honestly nice to avoid the crowds. We have a list of our "regular" items we like to buy here. And bonus from COVID, they do free pick up with no minimum $ amount! We've also done our tires at their tire service center and had great experiences. I'm not sure why, but the area over by paper towels does have a bit of a weird smell and always has. They really encourage self check out here, but there's always staff nearby to help with the inventible items you get stuck on. And most often, they are also so kind to load your cart back up while you continue scanning. Also, something they offer that Costco doesn't...coupons!

Don't expect to get your money back here regardless of what you're returning. I understand they're not accepting returns of food items. We tried to return 2 watches today that we purchased yesterday. Receipt present & in original packaging. Neither one worked. We never wore either one. Employee insisted we purchased with a credit, debit, or gift card. I repeatedly told her I paid cash. Refused to believe me & basically called me a liar. Kept insisting she could only credit the amount to the card used to purchase. Then repeatedly told me she was only "trying to help". I asked for a manager & miraculously she relented & returned my money. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

I received a flyer in the mail about two weeks ago for a three month free trial or one year membership for $25. When I went to the Flemington New Jersey store this morning I was asked if I had ever shopped in the store before. I advise them that I had shopped once before as a guest of a friend. I was told that I could not use the three free months trial since I already shopped in that store but I was welcome to take advantage of the one year membership for $25. I informed your employee that nowhere on the flyer did it state that you cannot use the three free month trial if you had already shopped at that location. Once again your employee tried to persuade me to sign up for the one year membership at $25. It appears that BJ's is pulling the old bait and switch on potential customers As well as false advertising. You would think in this economy, BJs would welcome anyone who wanted to shop there. You could count on one hand the people that were shopping in the store this morning. Be assured but I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, yelp and Other social media outlets to warn everyone of your bait and switch policy.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was a BJs member for 15 years. I had an incident in store and the manager was SO unhelpful that I revoked my membership that day. I called customer service on my way out to the parking lot. I asked to have the incident escalated so a Regional Manager would talk with me about what happened. I have now called BJs customer service no less than 3 times (over the course of two months) and the store manager in Flemington has NEVER followed up with me, nor has the Regional Manager. Shame on you BJs. You should have tried to salvage the customer relationship, not I. I became a member of Costco a few days after this incident since BJs didn't see fit to right their wrong. Horrendous follow up and ultimately, customer service.
