We got the signature curry and butter chicken curry. They were both so salty that we ended up mixing it with water to be able to eat it. Signature curry was not spicy at all. Tonkatsu and potato salad was good.

Super cozy interior. You can definitely tell it's a mom and pop shop. We ordered curry and two of the drinks. The lemon sparkle amazake was overly tart for me but the tropical one was super refreshing and I highly recommend that one. We got a chicken katsu curry with rice and asked for mild curry which was perfect. If you like spicy food, I would suggest getting the other levels of spice. The curry is savory with a mild sweetness and was super comforting on a rainy day. I'd definitely go back!

My bf and I both love curry so we wanted to try out this cute spot in Fort Lee. The owners kindly explained that their curry is very healthy as it uses a mix of vegetables and herbs in their roux. I got the mild while my bf got the signature. The mild is on the sweeter side while the signature packs a bit of a spice punch. We ended up switching since I liked a more savory curry while he prefers a sweeter one. The Tonkatsu was crisp and nicely fried. It complements the curry well. The curry itself does stand out from the boxed roux I normally get from Asian supermarkets but it's pretty standard tasting. The restaurant is on the pricier side for curry as each dish came out to about $20 each with the Tonkatsu added. Also note that there is very little seating in the restaurant. We came around 11am on a Saturday and grabbed what was basically the only indoor table. It seems like this is more of a take-out restaurant as they also have a fridge with packaged food to-go. I would come back here whenever I have a curry craving!

This is one of our favorite places in the area. Everything is made with love and intention. If you want to feel nourished from inside out, this is the place to go! The food is so fresh, and most importantly you can tell that so much care and attention is paid to cooking. It feels like eating Japanese cooking from a Japanese Grandmother. Couldn't recommend enough!! ❤️Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan optionsKid-friendliness: We take our child with us all the time! She loves this place.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free vegan options

It’s not the typical Japanese curry most people think of; their Signature Hakko Curry was uniquely delicious with just enough heat. The tonkatsu bento was also good. It reminded me of a nicely prepared homemade meal. It's a small, cozily decorated place with limited sitting, so more suitable to do take out for a bigger group.

By far the best curry in town! Great owners who are welcoming, kind, and hard working. Will always go back for some phenomenal Japanese curry!

Went for a Friday brunch on a cold morning ~11:45am and the door was locked. Strange, thought maybe I would have to skip and go to the next food on list. But there was another customer who was also confused it was closed. Before leaving, I went ahead and called the restaurant since it seemed like light was on inside. Friendly lady was in the back and immediately came to open for customers:)Went for their signature curry since I always like to pick whatever is the original item at a place. Also got the butter chicken for the kid since it's not spicy.- Signature curry was super spicy for my weak spice level!!! Figured how spicy can curry be, lol. Flavorful, I liked it but da spice!Wow that thing had me pouring sweat out of my head on the cold morning. If kinda weak spiced like me, definitely go for the mild maybe. I think maybe getting the mild with a katsu added on would be ideal, but I was on a journey to eat as much as I could during the short NY trip, so skipped the protein here. - Butter chicken curry was tasty and wife and kid ate it up happily. While waiting checked out the interesting drinks in the fridge,- Makomo tea = this was actually very good chilled tea! Such a smooth calming tea, it helped calm my screaming tummy a little bit from the spicy signature curry, lol. This tea was so soothing and refreshing that I came back 2 days later to get 10 for family/relatives! They didn't have that many, but said give them 20 mins and they will brew newly. Since I was going into the Harlem to grab some chopped cheese, I told them to get it ready and will be back in an hour to pick up and paid in advance. Before coming back to pick up the 10 bottles I noticed the price on receipt was $3.75+tax? I thought it was $3.50. When I pointed out to a 2nd lady at the store, she said they changed the price so it's updated on the payment system, but not yet updated on the labels. Well... I suggested maybe throw in an extra tea for the discrepancy since I've been paying 3.75 for the 11 total I've gotten thinking they were 3.50 as marked, but she didn't seem to be willing to adjust anything. Just took my 10 bottles and left since in a rush, but I think this was definitely something a small biz could have done something about for an honest misunderstanding caused by the store.- Amazake = this looked interesting, like a yogurt kind of smooth texture but sweet. Since was going to be out each day, did not buy, but the nice lady on the first visit was kind enough to let me try a sample from the stock they had. It was yummy! She said maybe too sweet, seems folks dilute it with water and drink for health. But I kinda liked it as is, like a sweet yogurt!

I enjoyed the flavorful vegan curry sauce as a dip. It had chunks of real vegetables, chick peas, tomatoes ? etc. I purchased it frozen heated in toaster oven, quie delightful but expensive. The shelf price marked $12.00, I was charged $15.99. Just verify prices upon check out. That's my recommendation.Vegetarian options: Vegan choices are available. There is limited parking, I walked there.

It's a great Japanese curry place. Delicious smell and taste. Their hand-made soy drink is also a must-try.

The hakko curry is really good, and definitely not the typical store bought instant Japanese curry. It felt a bit pricy when I ordered but the serving was larger than I thought and the quality and tastes makes up for it. I would just note that the “mild” still has a bit of heat. Perfect for me but the kids found it a bit spicy.Service is excellent too!
