“Trying a new restaurant in Franklin Lakes, we were met with a friendly, gracious greeting from Martin, and then amazing service from staff. The lunch portions were large, priced reasonably, and the food was outstanding. Very satisfied.“

I came to this Taste the Top like a Yelp Elite event today thanks to Sarah and her team. Located in Wayne off of Valley Road, Jackie Small is a bright, comfortable, and cozy eatery with 13 two-seater tables open during breakfast and lunch. There was no wait upon entering and being greeted by the staff, Hector. Their menu, inspired by traditional Middle Eastern recipes, is vast, featuring their popular shawarma grain bowl, Greek salad, as well as French toast, avocado toast, grilled cheese, blueberry pancakes, veggie bowls, BLT's, etc. It's first come, first served, as one orders at the counter, has a seat, and they'll deliver your food to your table. I decided on Smalls Scramble consisting of 3 eggs soft-scrambled, Gruyere cheese, roasted tomatoes, truffle home fries, and multi-grain toast. To wash it down, I went for the Mango Supreme smoothie (mango nectar, strawberry, banana, honey, and pineapple). The food was perfect—great portions and very good quality. The smoothie was delicious and refreshing. This place checked all the boxes, which I can recommend.“

“Comfortable, casual, but classy atmosphere. The service was very friendly and happy to explain any dishes that we weren't familiar with. The food was amazing! I wish I took more photos. We started with the babaganoush and tablouli salad. My husband had the lamb kebab and I had the chicken kofte. Everything was so flavorful and tender. I have no idea how to spell the dessert we shared, but it was like a non-crunchy creme brulee. SO GOOD, light and refreshing. Highly recommend this place.“

“Alright! Where do i begin?! There were 4 people behind the counter and when i walked in, all four greeted me. The manager greeted at the ordering station and didnt overwhelm me to order my food as this was the first time being there. He asked me if id like any suggestions and we landed on the chicken platter with spicy chickpeas rice and cole slaw. Everything about this bowl was immaculate. The chicken was well seasoned and spiced, the chick peas were tender and savory, and the rice was such a great compliment to the protein. I also ordered their fries because why not!The portion size was generous but not overbearing. They had the mexican coke glass bottles which was a great choice to wash the food down with. I got the brown to top it all off and it was amazing. Chipotle, Qdoba, Halal Guys even have nothing on Juicy Platters. I definitely will be coming back with the family!“

Take the time to get to know the family running the restaurant and make sure to try the Iskender (gyro with yogurt, tomato sauce and croutons). The filet mignon is top notch quality! “Always great food and a favorite. We've been getting takeout here for years since we moved to the area during the pandemic.The red lentil soup is my favorite and the spanakopita is amazing! We've had most items on the menu, you really can't go wrong. I prefer the Chicken Shih which is grilled and marinated chicken over the Chicken Gyro but they are both good. My husband enjoys the lamb.Because the dinning room isn't open yet and the blinds often closed, I think a lot of folks don't know it's open. It's a hidden gem in Ramsey and right near the train station.“

“If fresh authentic homemade pasta is what you crave, this is the place to go. Food is delicious and of high quality. You can taste that everything is authenticly Italian homemade with love and care. It's a limited menu but that is how they can put out such high quality. Prices are not cheap but worth it for the quality and execution. It's a small place with only few tables but we went for lunch and not a problem getting a table. BTW, it's a BYOB“

“FINALY after Covid we took some friends to our favored middle eastern restaurant this past Saturday . As usual we were greeted by our first names as we had not been there for three years! we had the combo maza which was great. The muhammara was just right. Our friends had the lamb shish kebab and the shawarma combo. Both plates were huge with two skewers of meet in each! According to them it was the best they ever had. For a change I had the kibbeh in a tray meal with yogurt which brought back memories of childhood when my mother made it. I can't say enough about the quality of the food.
