Brought my dog over to the vet over here (Central Jersey Animal Hospital) and felt myself getting very hungry. Ordered from this place and man, I have to say, the nicest woman picked up the phone, happily took my order. By far the happiest person I've ever hear take an order. On top of that, the food was SO fresh and so incredibly delicious. If I didn't live in Toms River, I would be at this place way too often. Keep serving the way you do, you guys are wonderful! Great great food. You can tell they actual love and care about what they do.

My new favorite Chinese takeout spot!! Such a wonderful family who has a real passion for food and it shows in each order. My family made the switch last year and I'm so glad we did. They are so friendly and accommodating and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else for Chinese food. Show them your support!

We had the very best experience!! First time here and DEFINITELY WILL BE BACK!! We were met by the owner who was just lovely. The sesame chicken was absolutely delicious! Usually when you order this dish there is a few pieces of fatty meat, and more broccoli than chicken....NOT HERE! There was the most tender chicken cooked to perfection. Roast pork was delicious and not greasy. Egg rolls were just amazing

I need to begin this review by stating that I truly wish I didn't have to do this. The lady who answered the phone, and who handed me my order was super friendly and polite. But this is about the food at this now take-out only, location in the center of Poet's Square of Freehold. Upon unpacking our take-out order at home, I was happy to see that they gave us two free egg rolls, which was very nice of them to include gratis, and we appreciated them. They were hot, crunchy, and very tasty. Our order of spare ribs was ok, typical sweet Chinese rib sauce on 7 ribs, in the small order. Not great, and very fatty, but fatty is typical for spare ribs. The scallion pancakes were decent as well, although they got soggy during the trip home in an unventilated plastic container. We ordered walnut shrimp, which is typically made of battered shrimp, with a white, mayonnaise-based sauce on top of candied walnuts, and a base of the obligatory broccoli. The shrimp were small, but they attempted to hide this fact, by twice dipping the shrimp in batter, this make them appear much larger. The shrimp were not great, and clumps of three or four of them were stuck together because of all the extra batter. No one wants to eat fried gobs of batter, in lieu of the shrimp you ordered and paid for. The sesame chicken was better, small pieces of heavily battered fried chicken; but it was decent no complaints. The beef lo-mein was perhaps the most disappointing dish. Plain Rice noodles with a couple of pieces of beef, no sauce of any kind. Dry and tasteless. The noodles normally are tan-brown from the soy sauce normally used in preparation of this dish. These noodles were plain and white. Did they forget to add some ingredients? Like vegetables? Seasonings? Sauce? Flavor? As below average as everything tasted, we had a lot of leftovers (not usually a good sign), and after re-heating all of these dishes the next day - everything was inedible, and was thrown in the trash. There are very few decent Chinese restaurants in Monmouth County. The really good ones are; Number 1 - Shanghai Bun in Aberdeen, which has extremely authentic Chinatown-style food, including the soup filled dumplings known as steam juice buns, for which this restaurant is famous. Tied for #2 - Peking Pavilion in Manalapan, and Hunan Cottage in Marlboro are also excellent, serving high quality, and extremely tasty food. This place is just your typical overly Americanized, not at all authentic, Chinese take-out food; bland dishes, gloppy sauces, utilizing mostly cheap, pre-made or frozen ingredients. Most suburban Chinese take-outs (the list in just Monmouth County is long and un-distinguished) are similar. They give the illusion of being a good value for the money, but in reality, they serve low quality, deep-fried food, topped with overly sweet sauces. Some of these places are almost passable when the food is first served, but by the next day the leftovers are like pig slop, fit only for the trash. This speaks to the lack of freshness of the ingredients. I am going to stick with the three places (named above) that I know are excellent, and serve high quality food. I've patronized them for years, and they never let me down.

I found this place by accident,a few months ago.I thought i was calling Jumbo kitchen, when I got there they didnt have my order,so I dialed back, and asked where they were!It was a longer drive ,but it was worth it.The food here is always fresh, and the people who run it are very friendly.Even Maria,is happy with the quality, and she's very fusssy when it comes to takeout.

This is definitely the best Chinese takeout in the area. Family owned, the food is freshly made and the owner always welcomes with a smile. Our favorites are the Szechuan chicken and General Tso's Tofu. No matter what you order, you can't go wrong.

The three great things about the Bamboo Kitchen are the family that owns and runs the business, the quality of the delicious food and the quantity you're provided with. I've been a happily satisfied customer for many years and was happy to see them reopen after the shutdown. Many of us have seen the girls grow up in the business and it's great seeing a local family grow while providing great food.

Funny story,I found this place by accident,2 weeks ago.I called and placed an order, and I thought I had called the Jumbo kitchen,on Route 79,however when I showed up there, there was no order.I called back the # I had called, and asked where they were located.I was a little annoyed to hear it was in Poet's Square, its about 3 1/2 miles from our home. When I got there ,however,I was pleasantly surprised, the portions were very generous, and the food was fresh and delicious! My 2 favs are the combo platters Shrimp chow mein and beef with broccoli. My wife, who is very picky, really enjoyed the Seafood Delight.
