Visited from California and made the Wild Rover our home pretty much every night for a week. Loved all the bartenders and the relaxed vibe. Beers were cold and mixed drinks were strong.

Each time 1walk in to this place, in Bakersfield is a lot of people but with a wonderful atmosphere. I remember going there one Patrick's Day, the whole place was filled with people shoulder to shoulder it was great. Recently I went back and it was a slow night and for the first time I saw what the place really look like I couldn't see it before cuz of the crowd of people or should I say see of people which is bigger.I think you'll love it there.( parking is a little bit of a headache, if possible just take an Uber or whatever you feel comfortable with. )

Monday night trivia is always a blast! Great blend of booksmarts and random off the wall knowledge.Thursday night karaoke is also fun, lots of regulars working their vocal cords.Only 4 starts cause of the hunt for parking. If you are local and don't drive it's 5 star atmosphere for a place to chill with friends.

Bouncer was extremely rude and kept blowing his cigarette smoke towards me with the ultimate disrespect just because I didn’t have my ID on me when he knows I’ve been there before. Used to be a cool spot until that man started giving me trouble. All of it was completely unnecessary and they just lost a high paying customer but that’s how it goes I guess. Keep smoking them cigarettes boy and see how long you last there with that attitude. It’s ok cause I found a way nicer bar that doesn’t have employees blowing smoke at me and understand me. How unfortunate for WRP to have such a terrible person work for them. Thank god it happened cause now I’m way happier not being there. The whole staff was amazing to me except for the bouncer. Oh well. Take it or leave it. Never coming back baby, have fun getting illnesses or worse with those cigarettes lil boy.

Normally, it's a friendly atmosphere. They have Kareoke on Thursday nights last I remember. Mondays they will do a trivia night when I have gone. It's a small neighborhood type of dive bar with a juke box and they have billiards. If you want regular beer it's well priced. The mixed drinks are expensive from what I remember. The bartender is really friendly. I come here sometimes with my friend who lives by here and enjoy the atmosphere. I would highly recommend this friendly dive bar.

I have yet to go, and though I am not of legal drinking age just yet, seeing how polite the owners are to those reviewing and asking questions, as well as their genuine support for the community as seen on their website has given this pub a special place in my heart. I will ensure that this is the very first place I go to take a drink or two when the time comes. Cheers to you lovely lads and lasses and may your business be blessed for decades to come!
