Where fast food meets dine in. Located in Hackensack, NJ, this Dominican restaurant offers some of the more popular dishes like pork chunks, rice and beans, yucca, etc. Although the food was okay, it was really just mediocre compared to most other authentic Dominican restaurants I've eaten at throughout the years.Fast service because the food is already made and you can see what is being offered under the glass. So it's not a made to order kind of place.There are a few tables indoors, probably seating for about 20 people total. So, not big but big enough for us wanting to get a quick bite. Seemed pretty clean and quiet when I was there. The one thing that will annoy me no matter if the food is good or not, is the personality of the person taking care of you. In this case, I was annoyed. The woman had a resting bitch face, and seemed that she was annoyed the entire time she was helping us. Big turn off for me.This restaurant seemed to be a spot for locals/neighbors but not something anyone would take a drive to get to. I gave it three stars because the food wasn't bad, but only three stars because I would never go here again.

I had a coupon to try this restaurant , which is a store front with parking on the side streets. The food was in metal dishes probably laying around all day but I ordered other dishes from the kitchen. When I went to pay with the coupon they said they were no longer the owners that gave the coupon out and that their name was Tu Cocina. However, the telephone number was the same as La Cocina and the sign on the awning said La Cocina. Even though it was a nice order, over the value of the coupon , they would not honor it. It is their loss as I walked out and they have now lost a customer.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. THIS PLACE WAS BOUGHT BY THE OWNWRS OFTU COCINA ON ANDERSON ST. Horrible food. Hard cold food. The previous owners was so much better. Such a shame !

I don’t understand why nobody can speak English when you call in. I can’t imagine how much money they are losing because of that! I tried to order a breakfast sandwich and it was an ultimate failure due to the language barrier.

DO not by any of the chimi. Horibble meet. It was frozen and dry. And the vegy where old. Sauce had the worst after tarte. Oh and always check ur order they always forget something. Especially the drinks and fry oh and the prices are crazy. I dont recommend. There better dominican food around the area

Was gonna get 2 lunchs to go but then I asked her "what's the matter, you don't wanna take care of me!?" She replies "huh?" I automatically start walking out.
