Saddle brook diner is worth it! This tasted like prison food especially the tasteless fried red snapper with salty mash and salty broccoli. Save your hard earned money!lesson learned 50$ wasted??

The only thing that keeps this place running is the food and the location honestly, it never fails that something from my meal is always missing & the hospitality is poor, they can definitely do better.I always want to support my black owned business owners first, however smiling, being respectful , aware and courtesy will take them further.

I’ve been craving some good fried chicken, and didn’t feel like cooking it myself. So I went to Paula’s assuming that I would find good fried chicken and then some. So we went to Paula’s and ordered the snapper sandwich, fried chicken, fries, cornbread, and greens. The chicken was a little salty, but good. The snapper had no flavor outside of the fish flavor. The greens and cornbread were the best part of the meal.Atmosphere was good, gentlemen working the line were pleasant and connected with many returning guests. The woman who took the order was not pleasant at all. If I didn’t say anything to her, I would not have been able to order. I didn’t walk away with a wow, but the food was not bad. The service/experience from the woman was something that I will not return for. Needless to say, I will continue searching for some good SoulFood with a soulful experience.

went to Paula's tonight ordered smothered Turkey wings they was COLD the waitress looked @ me as if I had five heads Never said a word she gave me yet more cold wings She was making the orders taking the money frying the fish yams could had been a little sweeter I said dinning in still received a to go box and paper forks I was told oh we stopped using real silverware when COVID started lady that was a while ago almost $20 for dinner with plastic silverware not going back there any time soon

I usually only order out from Paul's, but the food is always good, servers are always pleasant, the place is clean. A bit pricey but still affordable. Corn bread is very good but not this last time I ordered. Overall great place to eat.

I recently stopped by for dessert, specifically their banana pudding. Unfortunately, this is the fourth and final time I'll be purchasing banana pudding from this location. The banana pudding only contained one piece of sliced banana. As a fan of banana pudding, I was disheartened by the lack of bananas and overall quality of the dish, considering the reputation of Paula's Soul Food Cafe. I cannot in good conscience justify purchasing it again, not at four dollars and tax. I hope they takes this feedback into consideration and makes improvements to ensure a more satisfying experience for future customers.

I ordered the catfish dinner with macaroni cheese and collard greens. A little while has passed my stomach was hurting really bad. All night I was vomiting and pooping. I know it was the food because the only thing I had that morning was oatmeal and toast and my stomach didn't start hurting until after I ate the food. I called spoke with the manager Alice and all I can say is she was a rude and nasty person, cutting me off when I was trying to talk. She definitely needs customer service training.I will never order from there again!

CASHIER WITH NO CLASS!!!RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! The lady at register taking order has the worst attitude I have ever came across in my LIFE!!! JUST PLAIN OLD MISERABLY RUDE!!! I'm in town working for a few months, and being from the ATL... I love to support local black own businesses in each town I visit! Food was OK... but being from the south, maybe my standard for soul food would be hard to meet in the north... Never the less... Common Courtesy is one sure way to get return customers and I WILL NEVER RETURN!!! SAD BECAUSE I THINK SHE IS CLUELESS OF HER ACTIONS! And if that was Paula..... BYE PAULA

The older woman at the register is short with her customers and seemed to be annoyed that I ordered and paid for food from her establishment. Before I could finish telling her what I ordered she cut me off and told me she doesn't need to know the sides etc.. I would have spent more money but her attitude made me rethink that. It's bad when you try to support black business but get the angry black woman attitude from the face of the business. Paula if this is you and your reading this hopefully you'll adjust your attitude towards the people who support your business. You need customers money to stay in business, we don't NEED your food... With that said.. Maybe it's me..maybe she had a bad day. I read some reviews and I saw alot of the same type stuff that I experienced. I'll give her one more try. If I feel that kind of energy again I'll never go back.

If i could give this place zero stars, I would. I used to eat here all the time over 2/3 years ago but then they got hyped and got nasty. I’ve been craving soul food & there are none near me so I decided to give them a chance and Uber eats them. I figured it would come a little on the cold side being that i do live 30 minutes away so whatever. What I didn’t expect once I broke into all the chicken was all the under cooked/blood parts, I did not eat ONE because they all looked that way.I bit into the collard greens and it was bland, no seasonings, not a pinch of salt. The Mac and cheese was literally the only thing I ate and even then not the best Mac. I should’ve left them where I did.

Food is really great. The collard greens can be a bit leafy sometimes. I gave this place stars because the older lady at the cash register is usually very rude. Last time I went I had to listen to her entire conversation with another customer/ friend before I even had the chance to order. My bf has encountered this same type of treatment as well. It only takes a minute to take someone’s order.Update- They fell off.

I stop there today and purchase their jerk chicken plantain and mashed potato. The plantain was undercooked and so was the chicken. It was as if I was eating plastic, tasteless and raw. I had asked for oxtail gravy and my mash potato was swimming in a pool of oil. It was waiting on a heart attack to happen. I would not consider this soul food. I am from the Caribbean and this is a failed attempt at recreating soul food. I tried calling but they are constantly talking online he phone. I am so annoyed with these food services place, time is hard and I work hard for my money and when purchase something that’s not good, I am upset because I am throwing away money I don’t have….. Raw plantain and raw chicken

I have been ordering from here for 3 years for my annual black history event. Unfortunately this year, our catering order was short and I ran out of food, causing me to have to refund several people. This was embarrassing to say the least. We called the owner who reported she didn't know how much chicken pieces were in each tray and gave an estimated amount it feeds. She suggested we feed our guests 1 piece of chicken and had no consideration for our concerns, she was curt and unprofessional. I am disappointed that she didn't acknowledge our concerns and try to rectify the issue. Luckily, I was able to receive a better outcome through their catering provider, EZCater. I wont be returning due to a lack of customer service, she clearly doesn't value her return customers despite spending over $400 with this establishment.
