The food is always juicy and delicious. Expensive but worth it! Love love love this place. Always have a hard time picking between chicken tikka masala, lamb saag, and tandoori chicken. Yum!

This is the first time I have tried this restaurant, I ordered the house Biryani and a tandori chicken to go I was really looking forward to trying a new Indian restaurant. At first glance, the Biryani looked drown in color, I have tried Biryani at quite a few different restaurants, but none ever looked brown. The basmati rice was definitely overcooked from just looking at itWell, let's just say I was never more disappointed it was by far the worst Biryani I ever had... the Tandoori chicken was a bit dry. I have had better, but that is quite common with this type of dish. It was not bad, so for this reason, i give this restaurant one star .I'm so disappointed...

I was really craving Indian food so I came here for dinner with a friend. Despite it being peak dinner time, the place was basically empty. Only one other table was occupied when I walked in.The food was alright. Didn't blow my mind, but also not the worst. I ordered the chicken tikka masala (mild) which was was pretty flavorful. The portion size was decent. At first our server only gave us 1 plate of rice for 2 people, and we ended up having to ask for more. The garlic naan was also just ok. I can't get chicken tikka masala without garlic naan so it was a non-negotiable for me, but I've had better. The service here is pretty much nonexistent. You get a big jug of water so you can just refill your cup yourself. The server/guy at the front doesn't stay behind the counter. He goes behind the "employees only" door into the kitchen area. if you want something from him, good luck... you might be waiting a while for him to re-emerge. The other option is to get up from your table and ring the bell at the counter. He did come by a couple times to check on us and clear our empty plates, but I think it would be better if someone stayed at front of house at all times. It just looks bad and unprofessional to have the front of house vacant, you know?A handful of customers came in to pick up to-go orders during the hour or so that I was eating there. I guess most of their customers get take-out, which might explain the below-average/low-effort service.Don't forget to check in on Yelp to claim the free dessert coupon. Our server & another guy from the back (possibly a second server?) had to come and ask us about the Yelp coupon, like they had never heard of it before. But they also didn't give us a hard time with it or refuse to honor it. Just a heads up in case you want to use the coupon.

Decent spot to satisfy my craving. My biggest issue was the server couldn't answer questions about the difference between food options on the menu, which makes it challenging if you're working with dietary restrictions. I'm not sure if I'd return but the food was ok.Metered street parking available.

Order via Uber , so the price was $14.95 . For this price, you get pretty a amazing portion. However, it's on the salty side and some pieces are burnt. I like the taste, not sure if it's for everyone.

Mediocre Indian Food.. Maybe you have never had Indian food, it may taste good but definitely not for me. Veg Pakoras were decent but stuffing in Samosa barely had flavor, and the Biryani was just passable. I have had few Indian Curries from here before and they tasted better.

Terrible, incompetent people working here. Screwed up my delivery order. No way to fix it because they close at 3 PM after my order was delivered.Their food is not good either anyway. There are better indian food in other restaurants in bergen county. I only ordered from them because they were closest and fastest according to uber eats. Lesson learned and will not order from them again ever. Cannot recommend.

The food was awful. The condiments came out looking like they had been left out of the fridge for a couple of days. The so-called lamb saag was more like mutton. The food was probably sitting out all day since we came near closing. The waiter couldn't be bothered t hat we left everything on the.plates because it we were afraid of food poisoning.

There's very few Indian restaurants around here and this is one. Since the name is tandoori chef, I expected its tandoori dishes to be their specialty. I did a takeout : chicken tikka, chana masala and paneer masala. The chicken was not probably cooked, giving it a chewy texture instead of tenderness. The paneer masala had barely 5 pieces of paneer and had a very think layer of grease. The chana masala was also mediocre.

Ordered through Yelp and got a notification that my food was ready to be picked up at 654pm. I got there and waited...and waited. Food was definitely not ready and it seemed like they hadn't even started cooking until I got there. That was pretty annoying to say the least. The workers there seemed to not care and deliberately ignored me when I asked about my food. I got the food and it was ok. Nothing was terrible but I was disappointed that they only gave 3 rice bowls even though I ordered 5 entrees. Also, the garlic naan was literally one piece for $4.50 and it was not very good. I thought the chicken tikka masala and chana masala were ok but the spinach chicken dish and the lo-mein-esque noodles were not good. I also asked for some sort of hot sauce on the side and got none. Although we asked for the dishes to be spicy, they were not. Anyways, I don't see a reason to order from here again but they were open on Christmas Eve so kudos to them for being an option when very few were open. That might have contributed to their delays and being overwhelmed since they prob did receive quite some orders, but just manage the times better and it would help a lot.

I found a hair in my meal and called the restaurant to complain. The owner raised his voice and yelled at me on the phone, told me I was lying about finding a hair and accused me of just wanting a free meal. He also said no women worked there, which is a lie as a woman handed me my food and I don't have long black hair. Very poor costumer service.

How did I not know of this place?! I stumbled upon this place and I'm now hooked. The food was delicious and so savory. We got the butter chicken and tiki masala. You don't need the garlic naan, but it is worth getting, because scooping up the sauce with the naan is *chefs kiss.* We got the aloo gobhi, SO GOOD. It was a vegetarian dish, with cauliflower and potatoes, you just couldn't go wrong. I like the variety and excited to go back. It was so good I didn't even have time to take photos.

Fantastic, homemade, super fresh, delicious Indian food! I'm not sure why there are mixed reviews on this place as I went with my family, all very picky Indian-food-lovers, and we all absolutely loved everything we tried! The chutneys that first come to the table are SO flavorful. We already knew we'd be in for a treat! Tandoori chicken was served sizzling! It was super moist and bursting with flavor. My brother in law loved his chicken curry (he's very picky on this!) and ate every bite! He loved it. Lamb samosas were awesome - they didn't skimp on the tasty meat filling and it was so hot and fresh, with a crispy delicious fried outside. Worth the calories! Cauliflower/Potato and Okra dishes had tons of flavor without being oily, as a lot of Indian food can be. Loved these, as well as the garlic naan was so good, I didn't get a good photo! (It came out as a blur I was so excited to taste it as the smell was incredible.) Others had the tomato soup and mulligatawny soup, which were both raved about. Highly recommend!

Love this place. Most places give you very little chicken in the butter chicken. This place gives you more than everyone else and the price is fair. The nan is amazing.

This place seems more like a to-go type or place, not really dine-in, even though it does have seating. Food is fairly priced and the butter chicken is quite delicious. I wasn't a fan of the chana masala as I have had it in the past from other Indian restaurants and it seemed more soupy and a little undercooked. Also, no one sits in the front at the counter, you have to ring a bell (and wait for a bit) for pick up or even dine-in service, which is little off putting as it seems desolate or closed.
