I used to hate sushi, but my husband had me try it here, and now I love it! The ingredients are fresh and their special sushi rolls are so good...we want to try them all! Angry Dragon and Joker Jason are our favorites so far. The hibachi is very good, the bento boxes are filling, ramen, teriyaki...everything is delicious. The spicy sweet potato soup is one of our favorites, but the sashimi salads are also tasty. The interior is beautifully decorated and welcoming with warm, romantic lighting. Since we have become regulars, the owner's son remembers us and is always very polite. Make reservations on the weekends because it gets packed since this place has the best food in town.

A standard Japanese restaurant. This review is for the Hibachi style on the first level. The Hibachi experience was what you would expect. I guess you could call it "stereotypical," as in it has always been this way - and always will be this way.Like a scripted experience - Hibachi style eating at most Japanese restaurants are almost indistinguishable.Part entertainment, part meal, and you are also part of an "assembly line" of customers. They get you in and out with precision timing. There is no "dilly-dallying" and enjoying your dinner experience at your pace. You are on a timer for the most part. That is why this place only gets 4-stars across the board. There is not much that sets it apart. Is it good? Heck yes. The food was delicious. Was it the best? No, there is always room for improvement. The place felt a smidge dingy - especially near that back area with the bathrooms. Was not Michelin quality by far.Cost with tip was $180 for a family of 5 (2 parents, 3 children) No dessert or alcohol.I thought the Filet was fantastic. The chicken was okay, the shrimp was better. The scallops were a bit underdone. Other than that a-ok.And lastly - Hibachi style eating is "whimsical." As in, you would get tired of the in-meal entertainment and spectacle if you ate there every week. It would become exhausting.Once a year eating experience? Sure! A good place overall.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SUSHI/STEAKHOUSES IN ALL OF NEW JERSEY. I have been eating at this restaurant since 2011. I have had an INCREDIBLE dining experience every single time I am there, even if it is packed to capacity. I typically order the Roll Special A. The Don't Ask Me roll is divine. The Sunshine Roll is also Divine. The fish sizes are larger than any other sushi restaurant I've been to in NJ. If you order a tuna roll, you get mostly tuna in your roll, not rice. The Sashimi Deluxe dinner is wonderful. I've also ordered their sushi boat during a dine-in experience. Wonderful! I love to order fresh sashimi (Red Clam, Octopus, Squid, Sweet Shrimp, Mackerel, White Tuna) from here. I've had their hibachi once and it was excellent but I am a sushi lover so I stick to the upstairs. (upstairs is the sushi restaurant, downstairs is the steakhouse/hibachi). In 2016, I visited Tokyo and Kyoto so I have an idea of what authentic Japanese cooking is and taste like. The fish is ALWAYS fresh. Mr. Kim, originally from Osaka, used to have a restaurant in Manhattan but decided to get away from the busy life. Upon entering, Mr. Kim, or his nephew, will typically open the door and bow to you as you walk in. The restaurant is ALWAYS clean. The staff are always professional. Everything about eating here is simply extraordinary.Update: Mr. Kim sold it to his nephew who adheres to the same standards.Vegetarian options: They have plenty of vegetarian options.Parking: Parking around the building. Can get full though when its busy. Best to carpool on weekends.Kid-friendliness: Beautiful restaurant. No reason kids wouldn't be welcome. I have seen high-chairs here/

I had a delicious dinner with my best friend. The quality of the shrimp is excellent and the fried rice mildly flavored.
