My fiancé stopped in here and purchased about a dozen small pastries... Absolutely terrible. they wound up in the garbage. Not only was the icing on all of them sour the pastries were dry.. The one with the carrot on top you would think were carrot cake were not just dry yellow cake... Definitely not recommend and not cheap to boot...

We love the breads and rolls at the Carousel bakery. Their Italian rolls remind me of the rolls I used to get in Brooklyn. We find that the cakes and pastries are hit or miss, some of them not being fresh. Cookies are usually quite good.Nice people provide excellent service. Plenty of free parking. Baking is done on premise.

They made a wedding cake for me. Good price, delicious and so pretty! And everyone is so nice. Love them!Edit: last year I had a great experience with a wedding cake. This year it was just dreadful. One month ago I ordered a special cake for my wife's 50th birthday party. My wife is a nurse and that was the theme of her surprise party. The cake they promised me, and took a $50 deposit, looked like a nurses scrubs with stethoscope etc. I went to pick it up one hour before the party and there was no cake for me. The young girl called the owner and she mistakenly thought it was ordered for August 19th, not the 12th. My copy of the receipt said the 12th. Their copy also said the 12th, I saw it. The owner left an 18 year old girl to deal with me and refund my deposit. Desperate for a cake with no time to go shopping for one, I had to buy one of theirs. They had only 2 cakes in the whole bakery. So I begrudgingly bought a strawberry shortcake and the girl said she would give me a discount to compensate me for screwing up my wife's birthday party. $25.50. $25.50 for a strawberry shortcake. That was my discount. Absolutely disgraceful. Embarrassing. Unprofessional. Awful service when they made a huge error. Buy a datebook! I'll be leaving this review on every media I can find.

Definitely read the reviews before purchasing from this bakery. I sent a picture of a cake to the bakery for them to replicate. The picture had a cream color along with a sage green color on the cake. They assured me they were able to make the cake, but on the day I had to pick it up, instead of a cream color, the color was light pink and the sage green was a greenish blue. I hated how the colors looked together. When I confronted them about how I never wanted pink, they insisted that the color on the cake was cream and not a light pink, even though I was looking at the light pink right in front of me. Then when I told them that this is not the green I wanted and showed them the picture I gave, they said that yesterday when they made the cake, the green color was the color of the picture, but overnight the color changed for the green. They acknowledged the color difference for the green but just said that the color changes overnight. If they were aware of the color changing overnight was an issue, they should have fixed it or try to actually make the cakes fresh, the day of pickup. They did not care that we were unhappy with the cake and told us we can either pay for it or leave it here. Since it was last minute I had no choice but to buy the cake.If you decide to buy a cake from here, definitely ask them to send a picture of how the cake looks like a day before you go to pick it up to see if it’s actually what you asked for. (The first picture I put is what I asked for and the second is what I got, I really tried to take a picture in good lighting to make the best of it, but you can still clearly see the difference.) Also the happy birthday writing on the cake was very ugly and was illegible.

Carousel is great from cookies to pastries, and the cakes are some of the best in the New Jersey. You can't go wrong with anything you get from here. The staff is very helpful and just awesome in general. Go out of your way to go there. It will be worth the trip.

Decent bakery. Really heavily dyed baked goods which I hate. I get their 12 for $17 mini desserts. Eclairs are really good. Sometimes desserts are a little stale. Cash only.

I had very unpleasant experience with this business. I used to buy rye bread which is really delicious and always fresh. One day, l ordered some cupcakes for a birthday party. I ordered it blindly not even every trying the taste.I took 2 cupcakes home to taste it. We realized that we didn't like them at all. We tried to change order immediately to different flavor but the place was closed already. When l got there first thing in the am, the employee said that the owner said not to sell anything to me and said "bye, have a good life". I just couldn't believe the way she spoke to me. It was very unprofessional and unpleasant. She said no one ever complained about their cupcakes.

I wanted a special cake for my birthday and carousel bakery made my dream cake a reality! It was so beautiful and the attention to detail was amazing. The flavor was delicious and it was very fresh. The cake was so gorgeous I didn’t want to even cut into it. I am so thankful for carousel and will get all my future cakes from here!

Needed a bakery in a pinch. Should have read the reviews. Visually looked good. DEFINITELY not fresh. Dry and hard. $25.00 in the garbage.

was very upset with the cake I received because it was what I ask for I show her a picture. I mentioned to the lady who took my order that if she couldn't make the cake to please let me know. So instead she tried to make bluesclues but it doesn't look like him. She did give me a refund of $40. I couldn't remove bluesclues because it was really stuck to the cake. I also ordered sugarcookes and they were hard and she said those are the cookies we make. To top it off you can't even read my daughter's name. I spent more than $200 . I asked for the owner to call me back and never received a call. I went in today to drop off the cookies & show that they were hard as a rock and mention that I was still waiting for a call from the owner. The lady at the counter said that way the owner was her sister I spoke with. My response was so why did she lie and say the owner would call me. I attached a few pictures. Just to make it clear this is my first time ever making a review about a business. So disappointing..

First time I bought something here, it wasn't that great. It was ok, but not great.Recently, I went in here as a closer bakery was out of what I wanted, so gave Carousel another shot. The cake I bought was stale - almost rock hard. Even the icing was stale, having a hard skin on it like it was in the refrigerator for too long and dried out. I had to throw it out.I will not be giving them a third try as they're more expensive than other local bakeries for inferior goods.
