I happened to be back home in NJ for a weekend and I was being too lazy to go out for food. So I decided to order delivery from Tropical Hut Express via Yelp (Grubhub). I ordered the pancit bihon and chicken lumpia. The food arrived around a time that was expected and the portions were huge. I can't speak to the service as I didn't order directly from the restaurant and I never visited in person. My delivery driver left my food on the door step and watched me from his car to make sure I got the food so that was a contactless experience. Would I order from them again? Yes!

Ordered the fried shrimp, chicken teriyaki and pork shish kebab (I think it's called something else on the menu). Everything was EXCELLENT. It was the best chicken teriyaki I have ever had. The pork had an amazing sauce as did the shrimp. I regret not having ordered from here earlier.

Ordering was easy, service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious...all 3 times that we've gone in the last 2 weeks lol! This place is definitely a favorite of ours for flavorful yet simple food! Our go-to dishes are: chicken and pork skewers, chicken and beef empanadas, garlic rice, mixed veggies, and dumplings. You won't miss by trying this place!

Tropical Hut Express is a fantastic place to get Filipino food. The pancit was not oily and tasted great. The lumpia were good and the BBQ skewers were lean. The price is modest and you will most likely want to come back for more.

Thanks to another fellow yelper I decided give this place a try and this place did not disappoint! Everything was fresh and tasty. I wasn't a fan of the meat filled pastry because the pastry itseld was sweet and so was the meat. The grilled beef and pork was excellent. I look forward to ordering again!

We used the Yelp ordering service and this place was quick in delivery- about 30 min. We're Filipino so we definitely were happy for try the menu. We ordered Halo Halo, Curry, Menudo, and Opu. All made well and very good.
Just recently discovered this place and we were excited to get Pinoy food. We got empanadas, barbecue and lumpia Shanghai. Delicious!! Pork barbecue is quite lean and not too fatty - just perfect! If you haven't tried Filipino food yet, try chicken or pork barbecue. Sooo good!! Filipino empanadas are delicious too.

Delicious!!! Literally everything. We had the lumpia, skewers, and empanadas. The empanada crust was the best crust that I've ever tasted in my life! I wish they made a berry pie or gave me the recipe. This place is a gem!!

I had Tropical Hut Catering in Old Bridge 10 years ago for my high school graduation! Randomly my Mom in Law asked about where we could order from for a family members small birthday party and I for some reason thought about my graduation party so long ago. When we looked into it, we noticed the express location in Hazlet and she decided to order lunch from then to try! We did the Boodle Package so we could try a multitude of things (and empanadas). IT WAS ALL SO GOOD. I'm so impressed and I'm glad my family liked our lunch. They were amazed and very happy with everything we ate. To be honest, I wish I lived closer to Hazlet so I could order more often for myself. After trying this platter, we are dying to try more of the menu! Thank you Tropical Hut Express! You all were so very nice when we came in too so thank you for the welcoming atmosphere!

Decided to check ratings on yelp and ran across this gem, being Filipino this food wasn't anything new to me. I ordered the lumpiang, pancit, chili fish of some sort, the bbq skewers, and believe me I was not disappointed. The taste is just as Lola would make it and the wait time was just a few minutes. Hidden gem! I probably wouldn't have noticed this place in a strip mall on 35 in hazlet. My husband insisted based on his love of a Filipino BBQ place near his old job. Oh my God, so good! And so affordable! We've now gotten take out from here twice in 2 weeks. Hope to see this small local business thrive!
