I was shocked when the girl at the register said the truffle fries were $12 and a small milkshake is $10! “Barnacle Bill’s is an absolute staple of the Rumson area and is a must visit. It’s a bar/tavern/grog shop that is somewhat trapped in time but in the absolute best way. I was a little sad that the vat of pickles was gone but it's been a long time since I've been here so who knows when it disappeared. The boss/owner was there when I went in and to be honest, he seemed like an absolute jerk. I felt bad for the staff who were having to deal with his rudeness and grumbling. He couldn't even speak to them like an adult. He sat with his back to them and barked orders at them through his burger, never once turning around to address them properly. He did this in front of customers too, so I can imagine it's worse when no one's around. Overall, this is definitely a great place for a good greasy burger, just avoid the grumpy little garden gnome in the corner. ?“
