The food is good and we ordered from them quite often once we found them. Tonight we waited 1.5hrs to receive our order (ordered thru their website which was apparently passed along to Door Dash). When I called the restaurant we were told that the original delivery driver was bringing our order back to the restaurant and another driver was going to deliver our order.No further explanation.Because so much time had gone by and the hot food would be cold by the time the second driver would have delivered it, I asked that the order be canceled. The person I spoke with at Avacado Sushi said he would not cancel the order or issue a refund. He then said "That is Door Dash's problem."Nothing about us receiving 1.5hr old food, nothing about replacing it, nothing regarding proper customer service at all. Such a disappointment as this was a nearly $80 order. They must have so much business that our little order didn't matter to them. Horrid service...

Horrible service, avoid! Place opened 20 min late and made me wait for over 1h to give me my order -the first one that day!!!.They prepared so many orders for other customers before mine it was unbelievable.The manager kept lying about how long it would take to have my order ready, and even refused to apologize or refund my order.

Last Wednesday was my 3rd time ordering but after that day I am never ordering from this place again. I ordered online and my order was supposed to be ready at 11:15am. I drove since they don't deliver past 3 miles and I live 3.3 miles away. So I arrived at 11:15am and the restaurant was CLOSED. At 11:25am, the workers started arriving to the restaurant. At 12:10pm and I have missed a work meeting BECAUSE I WAS STILL WAITING FOR MY ORDER. I would've left long ago if they didn't keep LYING to me for 40 MINUTES about my order being ready soon! Meanwhile they were pumping out other delivery orders and ignoring mine. In the end I waited ONE HOUR at the restaurant for my order. The icing on the top? They forgot 2 soups. THE MANAGER DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE. Didn't even offer a partial refund, a free soup, soda, NOTHING. Also way too much rice on all the special rolls. F THIS PLACE.

Best sushi in Hoboken, and the miso soup has the best flavor balance. I’ve tried a lot of sushi in Hoboken, and some how just came across this gem. Miso soup had a complex flavor balance that few miso soups achieve, fresh seaweed, a generous amount of wasabi, soft/perfectly ripe avocado and drum roll: extremely fresh fish. Thank you Avocado Sushi team for your outstanding service. I’m so grateful I found you.

Normally I really like their 3-roll lunch special, but this time the salmon had a gross fatty texture, and was not soft at all. It really grossed me out and I couldn't eat it. I feel like they used the scraps for the special because it's cheaper than usual.
Great experience. It was my first time ordering, the person over the phone was patient and kind as I navigate what I wanted to eat. They delivered with a good delivery fee. No credit card over the one either which I love (paid cash). Food was great! Next time I’ll take a photo to post! Amazing prices as well. This will be my new sushi spot since I just moved out here :)

First, I'm an idiot. I thought for some reason this was a vegetarian sushi spot because they had Avocado in their name. Obviously not the case - now that my shame is out of the way - I had some very good meticulously crafted sushi here!Well, my wife did. I got the tuns poke bowl which was beautiful and generously portioned. Excited to go back.

I ordered Vegan Gyoza soup with dumplings, edamame with salt and avocado sushi (hand roll)for takeout, it was amazing. Previously I had their mango avocado roll for dine-in. Best vegan Japanese restaurant in Hoboken. Edamame is 10/10, perfectly cooked.Vegetarian options: Gyoza soup, Miso soup, Edamame, Vegan and Vegetarian fruit and vegetable sushi, desserts.
