Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard is a chain of frozen dessert shops that was founded in 1984 in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. They offer a variety of frozen treats including Italian ice, frozen custard, and gelato. Rita's is known for their "gelati," which is a combination of Italian ice and frozen custard. They have over 600 locations in 31 states across the United States.Rita's has a tradition of giving out a free regular-sized Italian ice on the first day of spring since 1984. However, they did not do this event in 2020-2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company was acquired by Argosy Private Equity and MTN Capital in January 2017.

This place is sooo good. I really want their franchise to expand (preferably to Toronto) so that I can continue to go here.It is so flavourful, the texture is great, and it’s just such a refreshing treat on a hot day. Whenever I travel to anywhere that has a Rita’s, I am sure to go immediately.

This is a superb Rita’s location. As loyal costumers, we are always treated with welcoming servers and good serving sizes. The two girls working tonight are THE BEST!!! We always look forward to seeing them!!! Shout out for being the GOATs

Small place so no space to sit and enjoy. But it does mean it’s kept very clean as you are in and out.

Prime location on Hoboken's Washington Street, but very small and cramped inside; definitely more of a "get in, and get out" sort of place. That said, the Mint Chip Chocolate Cream Ice was surprisingly delicious! It was very creamy despite being an Italian ice!

I love this place!! I love getting their gelatis. However, the amount of custard on top of their gelatis sometimes vary depending on who is serving me... sometimes I get beautiful swirls on top, sometimes I only get sad small swirls. Wish they were consistent!! I love the custard, so creamy and rich. I wish they also had the passionfruit guava and strawberry margharita flavor more often!

First time going to a Rita's and it wasn't bad the hostess was nice and helped me with my choices, I bought a pint of the mango and the cookies & cream shake as suggested and I wasn't disappointed

DONT GO HERE!! I love Rita's ice cream but this location has terrible, awful, rude, and obnoxious employees. I walk in to order and the cashier lady is completely ignoring me. She asks me what I want so as I'm ordering she's clearly more interested in something outside of the window. She's starring out the window smirking and literally looking past me. It's awkward because she's clearly not listening. At this point I thought it was rude but I wasn't gonna be upset about it because I just wanted my ice cream and I thought it was just an honest mistake. She then, is like "sorry, whats your order." As if I didn't just say it. But w/e I order. The other employee who is next to her the entire time that I said my order TWICE makes my order wrong. All I wanted was a small chocolate vanilla swirl with chocolate sprinkles. She makes sloppily and it spilling over with rainbow sprinkles. Once I looked up from my wallet to pay $7 for this freaking ice cream and I saw I was rainbow sprinkles I said "o I ordered chocolate sprinkles." And I know forsure I did not say it rudely; I was just actually shocked that they got my order wrong after saying it twice. Mind you I'm the only person in the store and they were rude to me the moment I walked in by purely not listening. That's on them! Normally in this case employees would be a bit more apologetic and offer to remake the product or offer some sort of solution sincerely. NOPE-What the employee does is look at me like I'm not even a person and I'm not there and rudely offer to remake the ice cream. At that point all I could do is just look at her and I just was so frustrated I just said never mind it's fine I'll take this. Which is something I would've done anyway it's not that serious chocolate sprinkles or rainbow sprinkles. But what I do take serious is people not taking accountability for themselves and unsolicited negative energy. Then she replies "oh OK" and stares at me like she wants to fight as if she's tough. I'm a grown woman and the teenagers on shift that day with their summer jobs are doing too much! At the end of the day customers are paying for a product and a service. I should be able to get my expensive a** ice cream without a problem. I get it mistakes happen but there was no need to be rude especially when you began the interaction by ignoring the customer. For god sake's they work at a damn ice cream shop and they're unhappy. I just came off a long day of work and paying bills and just wanted some ice cream. We never know what people have going on their lives so there's no need to spread negative energy over ice cream especially. It's just so upsetting. I had to shake it off because I wasn't gonna let that ruin my evening but getting Rita's custard (it's far from my house) was my reward for the week, I had a long week and was looking forward to getting to Rita's and their whole energy bugged me. The craziest part is you can just feel that they thought that they were right the whole time. And at no point was the store ever even crowded for me to be like sheesh maybe they are just getting a lot of orders right now. Don't go here, save your money, or find a local ice cream shop instead, or go to Ben & Jerry's or Coldstone. Businesses need to up employee morale because s*** is expensive out here and I ain't gonna be paying for my day to be Icked for an over priced basic product. Rita's, get yo people together!

Witnessed a rude staff today kicking a man out of the store after he pleaded with her that his wife was pregnant and all he wanted was one one and was willing to pay double for it. This is poor customer service and I will not come here again. Looked very bad especially since the customer was black and the cashier was white. Racism at its finest

We got here at 9:45 and waited in line just to be told they were closed when we got to the door at 9:59. They said they will serve us if the current customer in the store wraps up their order in 30 seconds, what kind of attitude is that... The kids working the store couldn't wait to close instead of serving the last 3 customers that waited 20 minutes in the long lines because of the slow service. At least they could've came out to cut off the line earlier instead of having people wait 20 minutes for nothing.
