Not sure what happened to this place but truly a let down from years of past. Bartender no personality and really did not know what she was doing slowwwwwwww! Food choices and food Meh a diner would be more enjoyable esp for the prices. Also the non cash service charge being added on the check before they know you're paying credit or cash a HUGE turnoff!

Poor service so we left without even ordering. Sat down for a good 15 mins but nobody came to offer water or menus. Sounds like they don’t like people of color so come here if y’all like bad service! Will not return.

We had a lovely experience at The Brass Rail. There were 5 of us out for brunch to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It was great from the moment we arrived. We were seated promptly and our server checked in with us right away. Clara was just delightful. We really enjoyed chatting with her! We started with mimosas, Bloody Mary and coffee. All were very delicious. Our starter was the tostadas. They were a huge hit. They could be a meal on their own. I had The mesclun salad with chicken, my husband and my daughter's boyfriend had the open faced BLT, my son had the grilled chicken sandwich, and my daughter had the lobster roll. Everyone enjoyed their meal. My son finished with the Oreo cheesecake. That was delicious (yes, I did taste that). We were very comfortable and could hear each other. Definitely would return.

Just leaving this money now. The following are facts: first around ofdrinks too 45 minutes. Apps were basic, 5 steaks ordered were basics with nod flavor profile. I will never go back to this joint.

It’s a cute bar on the corner of 2nd and Washington, but the experience can be hit or miss. The menu here makes it seem like they want be a slightly upscale version of a bar, but on some nights it just falls flat. On my last visit here, the cocktail I ordered had a garnish listed on the menu. When I received my drink, there was no garnish. The bar was nearly empty at the time, so either they no longer serve the garnish, or they just didn’t set the bar up correctly that day. Will I return? Yes, definitely. But I won’t come here expecting a high attention to detail and inspiring food/drinks.

Excellent grilled chicken sandwich with large and crispy fries. Service was outstanding as well. First time visiting Hoboken and this place made quite the impression.

This was for my daughters 17th birthday. They had a reservation and the girls were sat at a high top table in a row opposed to at a table where they could talk. This totally ruined their experience and her birthday. They had to text each other because they couldn't talk to one another. Very disappointed.

The food here was good! While I'd say it's overpriced for the menu items, it's still a good dinner spot and the vibe was great. It wasn't too loud, it was dim, and inviting. We ordered the egg and duck flatbread, buffalo chicken lollipops, and the grilled octopus. The grilled octopus was definitely the best thing we had, it was delicious. It was cooked perfectly- the kale went well with the acidity of the tomato helping make each bite extremely yummy. The flatbread was smaller than I expected for the price and a bit underwhelming, and the Buffalo chicken lollipops were quite good. They were very meaty which I appreciated. All around, not a bad spot to pop in for a night out.

This place has gotten worse since the last time I was here. Ordered the kale Caesar salad which had kale, anchovies and Parmesan cheese. Asked to add grilled chicken and specifically enquired if this is cooked fresh. The chicken was bone dry and chewy. And out of the three ingredients, they forgot to mix in the anchovies, which were then brought out on a side plate ?. Terrible for a $25 salad.

We had lunch there yesterday and our experience was very favorable. Nick was very helpful and I was sorry he wasn't there when we left to thank him again. Our waitress was adorable and attentive. We will be sure to visit The Brass Rail again the next time we are in Hoboken. Thanks again.
