I ordered to go chinese, specifically ordered Lo Mein, I made it clear I did not want the Hakka Noodles, but the Lo Mein. When the order was received, it was indeed Hakka noodles. The rolls were not Chinese style they had samosa tasting mince in the rolls. First time disappointed

Shalimar Restaurant in Iselin is a hidden gem who do not go there for how it looks from outside. . The food here is not just great; it consistently satisfies the taste buds and is reasonably priced. The Biryani, kababs and Haleem are truly out of this world. Despite being a "hole in the wall" kind of place, the incredible flavors make it a must-visit. Service is quick, and they remain open well into the night.

Our family found hair in our food from a prior takeout order so at the next visit we complained and they compensated us by giving us one free dish. We got some other food and dessert to go as well, and upon getting home we found this in a pre packaged ras-malai container AND the chutney separately. We were sick to our stomach and horrified. Safe to say we are not ordering from them ever again. It's one thing if the food is not tasteful or service is bad due to people working there or other circumstances, but this restaurant straight up compromises on hygiene and that's not okay. With the amount of hair we found through multiple items in the order, this may even have been almost intentional as backlash for us complaining. We've been long time customers of this restaurant but never again.

Women by sweets couldn't even turn around to take order - busy talking nonstop as if they had a very important conversation during work hours. To the owner, please give your employees some training on how to be nice and respect customers.

Visited this place last night with couple of friends around 1am , we had lamb chops and chicken biryani, chops are great and biryani is also good and we had samosas they are also great. Overall good food and they had nice setup for seating and service is also good and helpful..

Is it possible to do zero stars? I went to shalimar this past Friday morning and bought multiple boxes of mittai, for myself and my family. When I got home and tried it. It was terrible - old and stale and smelled weird too. I had to throw it away. I drove over an hour to get to Edison and get food and sweets. It is completely wrong what the owner is doing. Getting rid of the old mittai on customers. And you know what this had happened to me at the Princeton Shalimar a few years ago and now at Edison. So we are done. Shalimar, you suck!!!
