Stopped in with a friend as we looked for coffee shops near the Airbnb we were staying at. We needed some coffee before heading back into new york and making it to La Guardia airport for our flight back home. The strawberry mocha and bombolone were so tasty, but above all the service was so friendly and welcoming! Very nice atmosphere in the shop. Kind of sad we didn’t check out this spot sooner during our stay, but will remember if we’re ever in town again! Greetings from Chicago ☕️

Coffee was great and very cozy but I’m wondering why there is a 30 minute limit, with so much seating and the cozy atmosphere?

We felt at home instantly because the owner is so friendly and helpful. Great vibe and the coffee is perfect. We could have hung out and talked for hours.Vegetarian options: They even had vegan muffins and lots of milk alternatives.

This is practically everything you’d want in a local coffee shop. The staff has seen minimal turn over which means I see the same faces for years now and I know I’m going to get my order made correctly with great service. The inside decor is a great restoration which netted the building an award from the city several years back. They boast a great selection of pour over selections, teas, espresso based selections, iced coffees, and Matcha to boot. They always have a solid lineup of grab and go pastries which they can warm up for you if you ask. Some of the food is locally sourced, and some of it is made in house. On the weekends they have slightly larger selections with small sandwiches. I never have to wait long, even if the entire Jersey City fire department shows up or it’s morning drop off at PS8. If you are local definitely sign up for their points-based loyalty system. You will be earning a free coffee in no time because you will be coming back to this place often.

Always a pleasure coming here! The owner (?) and staff are always so friendly and helpful. They have a great seasonal coffee menu, and a variety of baked goods. Their cranberry scone is absolutely amazing! You can tell they have a lot of regulars and a great relationship with their customers. Need to come back more often to try all of their coffee flavors!

Located in the heights on Franklin St, this place has a cute ambiance and gives relaxing vibes to have a coffee especially during weekends!I decided to go for black velvet which is a dark roast and asked for a shot of whole milk to be added which turned out to be Cafe au Lait. The dark roast felt smooth enough and was refreshing enough to wake me up on a gloomy day from the little sleep I had in my eyes! I also decided to try out their 'everything croissant' with cream cheese, it's just the bagel version of croissant and it tasted good. The pastry though seems to be bought from somewhere but was fresh enough to start the morning! The service was quick and the baristas were friendly, overall a good local place to have a coffee. Would definitely love to try out their other selections as well in the future!

Been looking for a dark roast drip coffee in the neighborhood and I just found my favorite one! It's called "Black Velvet". Amazing and so smooth, and only $2.50 for a small cup! The owner, AL, was just as excited about offering it as I was to finding a dark roast. I have found my new fave coffee spot. Thanks so much, Al!
