Authentic Japanese Sushi restaurant in downtown Jersey City.Honshu has become a staple in the area, they offer, Sushi Rolls, Sashimi and Nigiri, they also have ramen, fried rice, and other Japanese platters. The place has plenty of windows, outdoor seating and the vibe is great, lots of different people enjoying authentic Sushi.Their custom rolls are to die for, starting with the house specialHonshu Roll, Sushi K Roll, Luis Roll, and others.Their Sashimi selection is great, their White Tuna is to die for and the sizes are big compare to other places I've visited.Their Nigiri cuts are great, they have a premium fish menu that always surprise me with the selection, always something new to try, their fish are in the majority imported from Japan. They also have OMAKASE, you really need to try this, I believe they start at $100 per person, trust me, you won't regret it.Service is pretty good, staff knows and can suggest if you're new or not sure what to try. They plenty of Japanese beer, Sake and other Whiskys.Overall Honshu is my favorite Sushi place in Jersey City, their rolls, nigiri and sashimi have made me fall in love with Sushi, it's my go to place when I'm treating someone for dinner and they asked, Sushi?#sushi #honshu #dinner #omakase #brunchWheelchair accessibility: Ramp to access restaurant.

No frills sushi place. Got my usual shrimp tempura, eel avocado, and spicy tuna rolls. $24. Good taste.

Loved the Honshu rolls and Montgomery rolls are too good. Definitely do not miss the sushi sashimi and Shumai, they are a must try. It is certainly not the best place in nyc area but I can say its an authentic sushi place for Jersey Citians. Service is very fast and clean. Try to get on the live counter by booking in advance or coming early on weekends. Next time I will try some other rolls and sashimi on their menu.

It's a bit loud on a Saturday night, but that's to be expected in this area. Food was very good and fresh. The waiter was great, attentive and full of knowledge about the menu and offerings. We will dine again.

Pleasant atmosphere. Stick to the sushi. Don't order anything with beef would be my suggestion, especially the teriyaki with beef negimaki. Tastes bad. The teriyaki comes with a tiny bowl of rice and then they charge $2 extra for each additional bowl....disgraceful.

Quality/taste: I got the 5 set Temaki and shared the Honshu roll with my friends. Every piece tasted fresh and just melted into my mouth. The set included 1pc yellowtail, 1pc salmon, 1pc tuna, 1pc scallop, 1pc toro tuna belly. It was so good!!! Would definitely get it again. My favorite was the scallop, tuna, toro hand rolls. But honestly they were all really good. Great flavor and they DID NOT skimp on the fish portions!! Service: Good service! Server was really nice and prompt with refilling our waters and bringing out the next piece immediately. Environment: The seating was a little weird at first... The host said we could only get nigiri one of the sections but not the other..?? And the omakase was only in the outer seating area. It was a bit confusing to determine which area to sit at and she didn't really help even though we told her what we were there for. Price: $$ Reasonably priced. It wasn't overpriced like most sushi places around here. Definitely recommend and would come back for sure! I wish I lived closer to go more often!!!

The food the service and ambiance was just so wonderful. I was so impressed by the outside decor and the service was so exceptional. Our waitress name was Emma and she was so sweet and accommodating, always checking on us. Me and my cousin haven't had dinner in awhile so we were catching up and she never rushed us. And when we wanted another glass of wine we asked if we could change our seats close to the fire heater and she was more than happy to make it happen. Will highly recommend this restaurant! Will definitely be coming back.

Dropped in for their omakase and DAMN. Every bite was delicious. Have been to many places in Manhattan that were very standard compared to this for the same price. Fun vibe, great take on classic nigiri/omakase. We’ve found our new neighborhood sushi spot!
