Only tried the calamari, and it was perfectly cooked--crisp, light and delicious. Next time will try the various pizzas and pasta which sound terrific.

A very solid 3.5 stars. The pizza is good and it's not just the thin crust fare. The cheesy garlic knots are lots of fun. The wings could take some work. A good option to order out from if you want to get a pie for the night.

I ordered a plain Motsorella pizza and the put way to much cheese the place was burned we asked them why they said "its supposed to be burned" we came early Andy waited 1 hour and 30 minutes but other pepole had to wait 25 minutes the cheese fell of the pizza immediately the Manger was very mean he was the one that said "its supposed to be burned" I might sound like a Karen but DONT GO THERE!

excuse me, is there an actual chef in the kitchen? We ordered chicken wings, chicken parmigiana and a pizza. And after the first bite of each dish we hoped the next one might get better, but no, everything tastes like a quick combination of sauce and raw material, like a decent looking dinner cooked by a first time cook. The chicken wing was wet... not saucy but wet and soggy. The chicken parmigiana taste like, well, fresh tomato cans poured onto an over cooked piece of chicken breast (the tomatoes were also too sour), and the pizza was decent, mainly because after we tried it after the blend veggies (I do appreciate the cold roasted pepper they probably bought in a random grocery store) served with the chicken entry. The second bite of the pizza was not great. It is salty, absolutely without aroma of the dough or olive oil. The service, unlike many have suggested, was actually pretty good. Yet, considering the price (at least 20 for a pasta), I absolutely don't recommend coming here. The kitchen needs a major rework and the food just needs to be better. Why am I here? By mistake. Everything went wrong after I encountered a skunk blocking my way to my real destination.

Best John's there is. Time Square WISHES it could be this location. Where does all the love from the John's in NY come from? Like everything else that makes NY great, JERSEY! So if you ever are around the area and are in the mood for Italian. Please come and sit. Have a glass and enjoy, because you will enjoy. I recommend the Chicken Française, unless you're in the mood for something creamy, then their chicken Alfredo will have you begging for more, though you will leave some in your plate still because of how much they serve you. Pricy? A little bit. Worth it? EVERY PENNY! So yea... Go to this one.

-I placed an order of creamy fettuccine pesto with shrimp for $28.-I picked up the order within the time window given, 25-30 mins later- there were 4 shrimp, the pasta needed more seasoning and was really watery.SUMMARY: for the price and wait time I had higher expectations. I wouldn't order here again.

Best gluten free pizza in JC! Been trying to find a good GF pizza place here that doesn't just use frozen disk or cauliflower crust. This place has amazing crust that tastes homemade and is so delicious especially with the char from the pizza oven. I have also had their regular crust which is great too. And their salads are fresh and super tasty.

Great pizza, salad and food! The wood stove pizza is very good. Clean and good service. I would highly recommend.

The pizza was decent, but nothing special, and certainly over priced. The service was terrible. It took 25 minutes for anyone to even take my order. After waiting an hour for my food, the waiter assured me it was on it's way, but then 15 minutes later, he asked me to remind him what I ordered and that it wasn't put in. I could understand if the place was busy, but it wasn't, so not sure how they dropped the ball so many times. They were kind enough to give my beer on the house for all mishaps.

Good service, garlic cheese knots are so good? Personal pies are great when you customize it. Quick service.

Great little neighborhood pizzeria with some awesome pies and apps. The wait staff is super friendly and it’s definitely a place to go out of your way for in Jersey City.

We walked and picked up a pie with meatballs to-go, it was the perfect ending to a long day. The pie was delicious!

Great location, good pizza, bad service materialized every time as a big sign saying "lack of hospitality"... Disappointing.

Wow Anthony was our server, bartender and comic. What a wonderful personality he had and a big heart. The food at John's is always amazing but Anthony brought such delight to our day.
