The ramen here is not good. Oily and not much flavor. It's not really a location problem- the location in Fort Lee is just as bad. Recommend skipping it. Gyoza is okay.

This is my second time at Menya (Jersey City). Both times I had the Chicken Teriyaki Don. It is really good, I did notice the second time my dish had a lot more onions in it (didn’t even notice the onions the first time). Consistency can be an issue but nonetheless the food was delicious. The service is a little so so, as you order and have to go pick up your food once your number is called. The restaurant is very spacious and well kept. Definitely a must try if you’re in the area.

Nice Japanese restaurant located in Newport. I've been here a couple of times and really enjoyed their food. There is no table service - so don't expect for that. Even the place being empty, we still needed to go and bring our order to the table. All the good we've tried were good and tasty - the guiozas are so good! The place is so cozy and clean! Only the service could be better.

Don’t order their No.19 Curry fried chicken!!! The curry is ok, but fried chicken is too salty! I don’t know how much salt put inside, but one bite half bottle water, ruin entire dish. Very disappointed.

I think this is definitely more of a lunch place because when I came for a weekday dinner, there was essentially no one there. I was kind of weirded out on how dirty the place was but never mind that. Essentially you order at the counter and then they'll call your number out and you get the ramen yourself.- Tonkotsu Ramen - Honestly, very disappointing ramen. The broth was very heavy and dense and the noodles seemed like they were out of a ramen packet that you can buy from an Asian supermarket. I did appreciate the thick cut pork belly slices but they were also kind of heavy as well. I was confused about the vegetables they put on top as they seemed kind of like a salad for the ramen.- Gyoza - But why was this the best thing there? I haven't had gyoza for awhile, so I decided to order it and it was honestly so good. The crispy and oily dough that barely touches the grill is my favorite. The filling was incredibly juicy and when you bit into it, it's like drinking soup. If I had to come back, maybe I would just order gyoza haha.- Karage - Their karage is pretty dang good. They give you a ton of pieces in each order (if you order large) and the outside is very crispy while the inside of the chicken is very tender. I like when you can "peel" the chicken bit by bit and you can do just that with this karage. Not quite sure about the cabbage they had on the side that wasn't pickled, but overall very good dish.Overall, it's a very okay ramen place - good for a quick lunch, not great if you're trying to indulge for dinner. Would come back for the gyoza but the ramen is quite atypical.

Solid place for ramen! They have a huge, open space with lots of seating. You order at the counter and then pick up your food when they call your number. Although it's self-serve, the restaurant still has an elegant feel to it.Shrimp tempura ramen and tonkotsu ramen were both delicious. The broth was very flavorful, and the noodle texture was amazing. It was filling, but I would have liked it to have bigger portions considering the price.

Amazing Next-door ramen place. We went there after mall visit. It was very quiet, traditional, and good place. Server greeted us very well and helped us to order. I like their interior it reminds me some part of traditional Japanese places in new york. Wish they could have more Japanese options. I would surely recommend to check out as its reasonable and tasty!

Service got worse. Half the menu was not available. Asked for a cup of ice. Said they don't have any ice but I see the ice machine right in the back. Yelp and website says close at 9pm but it's really 8pm.

Good, basic, traditional ramen. Counter type services so you have to keep going back for ordering extras. Tonkotsu broth was good and tasty but could have been milkier for my taste. Noodles were great. Wish more broth was given. Bean sprouts and scallion were mixed in with noodles so it was hard to enjoy just the noodle taste in every bite. Wish it was just dolloped on top so I can control how much of the toppings I wanted. Shrimp bao was good. Great clean spot for kids, large groups, or families.
