this place has gone downhill or changed over (no longer a Thai menu). I tried the fried scallops - they were actually made of that FAKE FISH product that was shaped to a round disc. Disgustingly unappetizing. Avoid

I don't know where this place came from but it is a clear winner on take out Chinese food in downtown Jersey city

(Overall: C) - Located in Downtown Jersey City, this takeout joint offers a convenient way to a cheap box lunch with a large variety. While the quality of food is not necessarily fine dining, it is very affordable. I was particularly pleased by the good attitude that the staff had that made my day a little bit happier. In the summers though, it can get very hot waiting inside, so I'm leaning toward a middle of the road review. (Pad Thai: B) - This does not taste like Pad Thai but instead Ketchup based noodles. There were too many non-authentic ingredients, but nevertheless was an acceptable dish for the under $10 price point. (String Bean Beef: B) - Another very affordable option with nice wilting on the string beans and tenderization of the beef. I found the rice to taste low quality and the egg roll to be better omitted, but otherwise a reasonable dish for the price. -- Food: -1 Presentation: E Price: +1 Atmosphere: -1 Service: +1 Menu: E Overall: 0 C IG: @amei.eats

Always liked Food King, but especially appreciated it as my first Doordash order while having Covid. I enjoyed the kung po shrimp combination platter and the garlic-laden hot and sour soup. (App-related note, many dishes are only available in quart size, not pint, hence the combo). In the past I've liked classic items like roast pork but also enjoyed at least one of their Thai dishes. As Newark Ave. becomes more glammed up and New York Times-approved hopefully Food King will survive.

This place is just a traditional hole in the wall Chinese restaurant there is no indoor seating. It's only take away and delivery. As someone who follows plant-based eating, it offers pretty much the same amount of options as other Chinese places. The food here is pretty good and I would recommend trying it. To me it's the best in my neighborhood. they have a few Thai options, but I have not tried those.

Best Chinese food in all of jersey city with impeccable service. We traditionally order takeout and it never fails to hit the spot.

Finally, proper jersey city take out Chinese. I've gone through 15 different places and nothing touches it. Outstanding.

Very disappointing. The beef & broccoli is very watered down. The sauce is very thin. No seasoning or salt. Got the crab rangoon even the filling & the sweet & sour sauce had no flavor

We wanted to have some nice Chinese food and this place looked decentThe food was Disappointing...We ordered about 7 dishes and there was no salt or seasoning in any of themGiving 2 stars because the delivery was super quick and the food tasted fresh however everything tasted bland .Egg fried riceWonton soupSpring rollsMapu tofu --- this was like eating heated tofu without seasoning from a microwave - was a turnoffSingapore noodles - not badLow mein - not badNot sure if this is a Covid related quality decrease but many other places offer far better takeouts in the area

Great lunch specials cost wise but average quality. Would definitely order again based on value but there are probably higher quality places overall in the area.

I ordered almost $50 worth of food for delivery and you would think that if it is coming through an electronic system they would get it right. Uh no. The only part of the order that was correct was Hot and Sour soup. I mean really, this is your menu. So they decided to just give me whatever food they believed would total the amount I paid. Thank goodness for Caviar, they quickly refunded my money and filed an issue with their complaint team against this restaurant. Save yourself the headache go somewhere else.

This is my Go-To chinese restaurant in my town of Jersey City. The lady and her family's been working there for as long as I remember. I never wanted bells and whistles on my chinese food. So long as it's cheap and relatively clean and the food taste similar to the rest of the chinese restaurants I have no complaints! Big thumbs up!
