This place deserves a much better review! This is by far the BEST Chinese food place in Jersey City area since Jiangnan has sloped tremendously towards the South. Every dish tastes authentic and unique. The spicy dishes are consistent and harbors the unique seasoning. Love the kick on my taste buds! Keep the good working going. ????

The waiter jun that works there has a serious attitude problem. If he cant provide proper customer service to people maybe this line of work is not for him! Very rude! I would give zero stars if I could. People like him is what hurts small businesses! The owner or manager needs to talk to him.

Had such a great experience! Is a first come first serve restaurant so get there early. We were able to sit right away. The whole vibe was super cute it had a some great staff very attentive and I felt like were there for questions. When we ordered they were able to help answer some questions. Got the food very quickly the beans were AMAZING! The fried rice was also soo flavorful. There is so much to explore here and I will be making a trip back! There servings are also HUGE!

You know that a restaurant is good when you come on a weekend for lunch and the restaurant is packed from the minute you get there till the time you leave. We tried the sliced pork belly and cucumber with garlic sauce, the beef with sour pickle soup and the pea shoots sautéed in garlic. Everything came out piping hot and was delicious!! The servers were so attentive and funny and accommodating! It's BYOB but if you forgot there's a wine store across the street. I highly recommend what we ordered and definitely want to be back sometime!

Great food, great atmosphere, and good service. Came here with a party of 3, no reservation and we were seated immediately. The staff were great about recommending dishes and making sure the we were okay. The restaurant had a really clean but classy finish with a lot of natural light. The food was amazing! Pretty authentic but executed in an elevated style. The chicken in chili oil was perfect and the sliced pork belly in garlic chili sauce was near addicting. I couldn’t get enough. We also got the sautéed cauliflower and stirfried cabbage which hit the spot. Very classic veggie dishes. For the large plates, we got the beef in sour soup and mapo tofu. The tofu was pretty standard but still really good. The beef in sour soup was a little salty, but could easily be watered down to taste. Overall the portions were great and the food warmed us right up. Would come again.

Today is Lunar new year , me with some friends total 4 had the pleasure of dining here and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch.everything we tried was bursting with flavor. The ingredients were fresh! What truly set this restaurant apart, however, was the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server provided great recommendations and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality made the dining experience even more memorable.Overall, I highly recommend this place??????

Would appreciate a few more options on the menu, but what they do have is very good!Unfortunately I have to dock them one star as tonight they forgot to put in my order and closed the kitchen early, so no food for me apparently.

This is a rave of a review. Excellent Szechuan! The original in nyc is reportedly the only Michelin starred such one, but this one is new and brighter bigger in space and menu. Drawing crowds. Deservedly. Oddities: the nyc one has no tea (!). This one has no noodles (!!). Yep that means no dandan. Weird because the nyc one has an excellent dandan mayb even better than Han's. But both have lobster! And very good cold spicy pork belly. And numbing tingly mapo tofu. And big portions. And modest prices. And great eager service. A go-to with craveables!

Such a great time. They are BYOB and there’s a liquor store right across the street. They do not take a reservation and it is quite a popular spot so you will have to wait a bit. We put our name down and walked over to Hudson Hall to have a drink and app first. The wait was about an hour on a Friday night for 2 people and it is a relatively small restaurant as well. But the food was well worth it. Reasonably priced for this area and very good. As all schezuan good, it was incredibly spicy but you can ask for mild.

TLDR; I can say the food quality is not there and there are much better options in the area, namely Chef Tan and Jiangnan. These will now be my go to. After my recent visit at Peppercorn on January 25th, I feel compelled to share. That evening, a friend and I enjoyed dinner - the cauliflower was a delight, but unfortunately, the twice-cooked pork fell short, being excessively salty. The real issues, however, began with the bill. As a rewards member, I used my Mastercard, expecting not only a fair split of the bill but also the application of my well-earned $5 discount. To my dismay, neither happened. The total came to $39.46, and we agreed to split it 50/50. Yet, the division was not 50/50 - I was charged $25, while my friend’s total was $20. My $5 discount was nowhere to be seen on the final amount, despite it being indicated on the receipt.Seeking resolution, I contacted the manager, June, on the night of January 25th and then again in person on January 26th. June’s response left much to be desired. He suggested implausible solutions, like having my friend Venmo me, disregarding the fact that the discount was linked to my account, not hers. His demeanor was dismissive, and his attitude bordered on rude. At one point, he even laughed and shook his head as he went to the register to print a copy of the receipt, a gesture that felt like a direct jab at my concerns. The resolution offered? A mere $5 discount for the next visit, which ironically, I already had in my account, because as mentioned, I frequent the place. It was a hollow gesture, failing to address the core issues – the billing discrepancy and the unapplied discount. June’s suggestion that I “use the coupon now and order something” only added to the feeling of being dismissed. He acted like it was such a great gesture when it really wasn’t since it did not do anything to fix the current situation. What stings the most is not just the financial aspect, but the principle of it all. The lack of empathy and the cavalier attitude towards a customer was disheartening. This experience, coupled with the poor customer service reflected in other Google reviews, leads me to a sad conclusion.I’m writing this not out of anger, but out of disappointment. This experience has left a sour taste. As much as it saddens me, I cannot see myself returning. To those considering a visit, I caution you - it’s not just about the food, but also the respect and service you expect as a customer. Double check your receipts. As a bonus, I had a stomachache the following 24-48 hours after eating there. Upon checking the reviews for this place, I see how poorly some have rated the food safety here. June, may you eventually grasp the profound value of customer service and embrace a transformation in your approach, ensuring that future interactions reflect a more considerate perspective. Please honor how you resolve things with your customers rather than changing it up on them the next day and giving a bad attitude. Also the food really isn’t anything special, hence why the other two options listed above are much better service wise and food wise
