This place is nice and cozy. The food is prepared well. But it is crazy expensive in my opinion. The waiter is attentive. You get to bring your own wine. It was not crowded at all for a Sunday night.

The place was empty and there were three waiters. It took the waiter forever to come ask me what I wanted to drink. I had octopus as appetizer and that was pretty good, but my entree was not tasty at all and it took forever to come back. I will never go back.

The Franklin went above and beyond for my baby shower. The food was fantastic, the service exceptional, and the venue felt both homey and private, ideal for our 40-person gathering. Kelly, who assisted us leading up to the event, was amazing to work with. From start to finish, The Franklin made our celebration memorable and stress-free. Highly recommend!

We found the Franklin restaurant by accident. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, and the staff is very attentive. When I requested eggs Benedict without bacon, the chef personally came to us, suggesting a replacement with mushrooms or avocado. The food is delicious. Typically, when you choose a salad as a side, it's just chopped greens, but here they brought a complete salad with cherry tomatoes, greens, and sauce. Very delicious. The prices are decent. $62 for 3 people with 3 dishes and coffee.Definitely worth visiting when you are in Jersey City.

Excellent food and quiet, comfy vibes. Jersey City is full of amazing restaurants and is honestly a food capital of the US, so this place might get missed on lists of top restaurants, but it's worth a visit. The Franklin has the best cacio e pepe in North Jersey. I've been here about ten times. BYOB and if you forget to bring your drinks just walk a block to pick something up and you'll be back before your apps have been served. Outdoor seating can be good or bad depending on the time of day, since Franklin is a busy route and thoroughfare. It was better when they had pandemic seating on NY Ave.

As a local , I frequent this place . Either dine I , take out or Uber eats. Today, to start off my new year I wanted eggs Benedict, and where better than here in this area. The waitress seemed a little overwhelmed , even tho there were only 4 tables. We ordered and then more people came in. Had our coffees and OJ and 20 minutes after our order was taken, she came and said she lost our ticket and needed our order again. I was upset seeing the place is now full(table of 9 next to us) and my order is going in after that. I decided to take my losses and just ask for the check. With no hesitation or apology she proceeded to charge me $15 for 2 coffees and an orange juice. The least she could have done was try to entice my to stay and eat something at a compensated price or something similar. I don't blame it all on her for the last time we were there the same waitress was alone as well. Seems like a management issue and training issue as well . She was not prepared to handle the situation. I wanted to say that this was a very disappointing first meal of the year .Done with this place sorry

Dined 07/10/2023 MO @ 5:15pm): The restaurant could've easily been named "The New York" instead of "The Franklin" based upon its intersection location!I had The Franklin on my bookmark list ever since my friend moved into the neighborhood a couple of years ago, so today just happened to be that perfect time to give them a try! We've passed by this place numerous times while we walked the lil' black beast, and it always looked so charming, like a café on a narrow French street while people sat at the surrounding tables. Now that we've made it here, how frank would we be on whether or not it was worth the wait!?PURCHASETruffle Fries ($7.00): This was a plentiful portion of crispy spud sticks with a ton of truffle taste and a side of ketchup - nice start! yelp.com/user_local_phot…Crispy Brussels Sprouts ($12.00): Another plentiful portion of bite-size somewhat tangy sprouts that seriously could've been a meal on its own! yelp.com/user_local_phot…Mediterranean Salad ($15.00): A refreshing mix of greens and veggies with a light citrus vinaigrette, all it needed was some kalamata olives! yelp.com/user_local_phot…Grilled Hanger Steak ($28.00): Juicy, succulent, and tender sliced meat along with potatoes and broccoli, I'd hang around this place or another serving! yelp.com/user_local_phot…Braised Short Ribs ($30.00): Flavorful fingers of tender rib meat along slim asparagus and buttery mashed potatoes, I wanted to savor this dish as long as possible! yelp.com/user_local_phot…Homemade Lemonade ($5.00): This truly quenched the thirst with a slight tart to it! yelp.com/user_local_phot…Bread Pudding ($8.00): A hefty yet satisfying dessert drizzled with a caramel maple sauce! yelp.com/user_local_phot…Olive Oil Cake ($9.00): A spongy surprise with fluffy whipped cream that left a smile on my face! yelp.com/user_local_phot…SERVICEImmediately greeted by a friendly young hostess, we opted for an outdoor table since we had our furry family member, and it was such a beautiful day. She immediately gave us menus, brought out water yelp.com/user_local_phot… and gave us time as we settled in. She also advised that they were a BYOB no corkage fee establishment, so we went to a nearby wine shop and brought a bottle yelp.com/user_local_phot… for our meal. Once we ordered, each dish came out perfectly timed so we were overcrowded. She periodically checked on us and cleared away any empties. She was amazing the entire time - thank you!PARKING (Street Only; N/A this instance)We walked from my friend's relatively nearby place. Otherwise, as was the case for much of The Jersey Heights neighborhood, there were limited spots along the main drag of New York Ave. and all surrounding streets unless you were lucky enough to find an empty spot, or you took public transportation which stopped nearby - nuff said.ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCEAn inviting corner location with vivid blue paint, we never made it past the sidewalk into the restaurant, so frankly I had no idea how it was there. Otherwise, there were plenty of covered tables outside as you watched the world go by. As you'd imagine, there was plenty of natural lighting since we were outdoors while minimal electric and street lights filled in the rest. I had no idea whether or not they had TVs or any background music, but we had clamoring street noise. yelp.com/user_local_phot…ATTIRETotally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops.OVERALLI loved The Franklin and couldn't wait to visit my friend so we could eat here again. Their breakfast menu looked amazing, and everything we had was top-notch. Thankfully, they allowed our furry family member outside (he loved to be with his hoomans!). The menus (especially the breakfast) looked wonderful and were extensive enough. I felt the prices were reasonable, the portions large, and the service impeccable. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $125.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they acc

Tl;dr The Franklin is our go to neighborhood eating out restaurant. The food generally comes out quick, and when it arrives it is warm and delicious. My child askes me almost every day for their chicken fingers and fries. The restaurant is easily categorized as a brunch spot as much so as a dinner spot. All of the brunch dishes I’ve had are rock solid. All of the pastas on their normal menu have the appropriate cook pairing of ingredients and amount of sauce. If you need to go with a general staple for a visiting relative, like a burger or steak, they have you covered. This certainly makes for a great “the parents are in town” easy night out local dinner. Personally speaking, I feel like their specials are always the star of the show there because their chefs continue to impress.

Food was disgusiting. We had the mushroom omelette and steak and eggs. The server said their steak and eggs is good but it was overcooked and the fries were cold. Will not go back. They never asked how the food was after serving us this dog food.

Unfortunate. I live locally. I’ve celebrated my birthday every year here. However, they prefer to book a private event over their already made reservations. I understand it’s business but letting your loyal clients know 2 days before your 20 people reservation is cancelled due a NEW private event is so unprofessional. They’ve forever lost loyal customers.

Holy moly this breakfast wrap was huge. Each half was literally enough for a whole meal, and was overstuffed with eggs, cheese, potato and sauteed onions and peppers. They have a ton of standing lunch and brunch options, plus lots of daily specials. The brunch fair is pretty classic, but the lunch and dinner fare has an Italian twist and you can find lots of pastas on the menu. The interior is super cute and cozy. You can tell this is a neighborhood staple for those who live nearby. They are also BYOB which is always a win. Service was speedy and friendly. At lunch time on a weekday it was pretty quiet and most tables were empty. I'd definitely return for a quality meal in the JC Heights!
