Definitely sit outside if you can! Even if it's cold. The heaters work well enough that you don't need a jacket. Our server Marisa took great care of us. She had great menu knowledge and was friendly and quick. Everything we ate was delicious. I wish the French toast could come in a half portion, though :)

We just moved to Jersey City and we brought our friends who were visiting from NYC and we all loved this place! Stephanie and Dan were amazing and treated us so well! We can’t wait to make the Hutton our regular spot!

Fun spot for trivia ! Delicious pub food with an extensive list of cocktails.

I thoroughly enjoyed the vibe in the back patio and the attentive service. I loved that we were seated immediately on a Sunday for brunch. I also enjoyed the grain bowl that I got, as it is so wholesome and big. The one thing I surprisingly did not like is the fried chicken naan sandwich. I know that it's their most popular item, but the cheese gravy that comes on it was too much for me, and the chicken itself was fried to oblivion that it was really dry and I could barely taste the meat. The taste and texture just did not sit well with me, especially for the price. So I was disappointed with that entree. However, I would love to try their other items as maybe this was just a miss with me, and I'm a fan of the restaurant otherwise!

I had a sangria and it was awesome. I had the naan chicken sandwich and they were able to replace my the fried chicken for some grilled chicken and put this sauce on the side. Everything was awesome and the waitress was very accommodating and patient with us. We would definitely come back again. We sat in the back which appeared to be a covered outdoor space with various heat lamps- it was a very nice setting.

Food is good and innovative, service attentive and ambiance is like cheers! All round a good neighborhood spot! I love the Irish band that seemingly shows up on Sundays and plays for us at brunch. A fun place!

Edit: I can no longer recommend this place after the management has changed. The service is terrible. If you sit on the patio you are completely forgotten waiting 30 min plus for someone to come take a food order. Once you get food no one checks on you and you have to flag someone down just to pay! If you sit near t he bar you might not be forgotten. The tables are also not wiped down. The food has also changed for the worse. Ordered the grain bowl the veggies were not cooked well and they are fewer, they added a salad for some reason, put chickpeas straight from a can on top, put so little quinoa and modified the goddess dressing so it is thin. The naan chicken sandwich was cooked well but they didn’t even put the corn mix in top!One time we ordered the apple guac and the tostonos were completely stale! Quality is not a thing here anymore so the price cannot even be justified. These issues happened the last four times we visited. The drinks are still good so maybe I’d come rarely just for drinks but never ordering entrees there ever again. So sad this used to be our favorite place and a gem in the neighborhood.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I go here often and every time it’s amazing. The food is sooooo good hits the spot every time. Simple American food with little modifications that just elevate the whole dish. Ample portions and the drinks are fire. Love the ambiance too. Everyone working there is so nice and provides great service. One time I came in during a rain storm and my glasses got all messed up and a waitress helped me get some napkins and alcohol to help clean them so I could see again! So above and beyond. Only wish it wasn’t so pricy but you get your moneys worth. Grain bowl and onion rings are the best!! Bf loves the naan chicken sandwich!

The brunch was delicious, very good french toast with caramel bourbon sauce and espresso ice cream! The grilled cheese was on sourdough which made the sandwich. Have been for dinner as well, and love the atmosphere. They also have a patio that has heaters if it's cold.

We held a nonprofit event at The Hutton and it was delightful! The food and drinks were delicious, the staff was extremely nice and attentive, and the space was perfect for our needs. We will be back!

The only place in this neighborhood that is a cozy vibe and actual bar/lounge. But the prices are pretty high. It isn't bad but I don't think it's worth the cost of the food/drink.

I live pretty close to The Hutton so I wish I could give it a higher rating (and would want to come more often generally). I remember the first time I visited, probably 3-4 years ago. At that time it was new and exciting for the neighborhood. Unfortunately, after several years, it's just the same thing over and over: overpriced and no updates. Literally the food hasn't been updated in years (I think I've seen some new drinks recently though). I believe initially they had seasonal menus but that hasn't been the case since my first visit. And for a hipstery establishment that charges so much for everything, that's pretty surprising. I'm not the biggest fan of the vegetarian food available here, and honestly I'm surprised at the limited options given what I assume is the target audience of this place. I do enjoy the brunch menu though. The service is always great so I appreciate that. And I love the back patio area with the booths - in the winter it's enclosed so when the heaters are going, it's perfectly cozy. And in the summer, it's such a good spot to chill. Overall, it definitely feels like a neighborhood spot. I'd give a higher rating if they update or expand their food menu, especially their vegetarian options. Or even if they reduced their prices - then I'd visit more often, at least for drinks!

The Hutton is a gem of a spot tucked away in The Heights neighborhood of Jersey City on a street that bears the same name. I called prior to my arrival to inquire about brunch and was told that they served brunch until 2:30p. The space is bright and the size is deceiving from the street. They have a back area that's an enclosed atrium with TVs and another bar as well as additional table seating. I sat in the bar area at a cozy booth that was sprinkled with a few high tops and deuces. Music was a mix of classic rock and indie. TVs had some sports on them but it didn't feel overbearing or like a sports bar. The menu was a nice balance of classic brunch fare but with The Huttons unique twist. Everything priced super reasonably, $14 bucks for a Romaine Ceasar. The Hutton Burger which I almost got was $19.00 served with bacon jam and your choice of hand cut fries or salad. What a deal! I wanted a dessert breakfast and some protein so I opted for their signature Bourbon Caramel French Toast and got a skirt steak cooked medium with no sides. Dan, my server was prompt, friendly and answered all of my questions. Big shout out to Dan for taking the time to accommodate my requests and make me feel at ease. Lovely service! The food came out quickly and was fantastic. The french toast hit all of the notes, sweet, savory, fluffy but not dry. The scoop of espresso bean ice cream was a nice touch and exactly what I was craving. The skirt steak was cooked to perfection and 6oz was plenty. I was super hungry so I ate every bite! As I was leaving there was an Irish band setting up. You could see the locals starting to file in and everyone greeting each other, employees and guests alike. Really good friendly neighborhood vibes. I would suggest that anyone who's in that area and looking for a place to grab a bite, to check this spot out. The Hutton does not disappoint.
