From the moment my amazing girlfriend and I walked into this quaint cafe, we fell in love with the vibes, decor, smells and more so, the people. They were so accommodating. Always a great experience here. People are friendly and have their act together. I had french toast yesterday even though it wasn't on the menu and it was awesome. We also had a breakfast sandwich was huge and delicious. Cant forget to mention the coffee made just the way you like it. This is always our first and last spot when we come down to Ortley. Thanks for providing that happy feeling!

I've been making a breakfast stop at Lava Java for the past couple of years while visiting Lavallette and it's still one of my favorite places to visit. I love the coffee and the food, but the real secret sauce is the employee attitudes and inclusive environment that Lava Java cultivates.I've probably taken 3-4 picture of their "all welcome" sign out front over the years, because I love the message so much. You can get a good cup of coffee from a bunch of places down at the shore, but you'd be hard pressed to find a shop that's more welcoming to all. That's why I keep on coming back!

I purchased a hot cortado and an order of avocado toast with fried egg and everything seasoning on it. The receipt said that the cashier's name was Sarah B., I don't know if that's who the cashier was, but she was super pleasant, plus my order was ready in less than 5 minutes.

Good vibes, good people, good coffee, good food. To eat, I got a taylor and cheese, and my better half got a Lava Love. Washed it down with a large Costa Rican bean blend, Delicious. Thank you Lava Java, you put a smile on our face!

This is one of our go-to places for breakfast takeout and eat-in. Summers are a nightmare and the line can be out the door. We usually go during off-season. I love the staff - they are soooo nice and efficient. My orders are always right on, they have gluten free options & GF bread. Really enjoy their hot drinks - latte with oatmilk and their tea selection is very good. It is very small but quaint with such a great local atmosphere including local art and an overall good vibe. LOVE LAVA !!!

we recently went while on a beach trip and it was great! I might be partial to cute little coffee shops because I love supporting small business with artsy vibes like this has, but the food was fresh and the coffee was awesome. The line was super long, which sucked, but it tells you something about how good it is! Service was authentic and everyone was super friendly despite how crowded and busy it was. Would go again!

I was on vacation but needed to work the day and found this inclusive café to work from. I came in at 8 and left at 2 and got breakfast and lunch. The place was packed with a line the whole time but The staff was kind and gracious to let me work. I spent the last 15 minutes chatting with a waitress who was a delight. I wish I remember her name! Will definitely be back if I'm in the area.
