Great vegan eatery right in the farmers market. The people who work here seem friendly and cool. I like the way they've decorated the eating area with cute small wooden tables and flowers. I am having a bowl with red quinoa and the "rainbow" toppings. I was hoping for the curry toppings with tahini, but they don't serve tahini anymore. The lemon aioli definitely has a strong mayo flavor if you don't like that. This was a healthy, satisfying meal during my thrifting day.

This place deserves its own building! Such wonderfully kind and friendly staff, looking to please and share smiles. I got the sweet potato special, and Curry Potato dish with sauces on the side. So wonderful having fresh food, minimal oil, local ingredients, and no fake or processed foods (just not my thing.) Love that everything is gluten free. And exciting that they are experimenting with date sugar to start offering healthier baked goods. Cute little eating area where they set up a few tables tucked away from the flow of market goers. I recommend bringing your own fork for the most enjoyable experience (it’s what I do!)

Lady & the Shallot is everything magical about small business and the freshest and healthiest dang food you can get. I drive in from PA every single weekend just to eat here. Their produce is seasonal and comes from the farms at the market, their sauces are to die for, they always have creative and delicious specials, they treat you like family the first time you meet them, they enjoy knowing and getting to know their customer base, and have built an incredible community there. GF and vegan heaven with something for everyone, even the veggie-avoidant ?.I am the only vegan among my friends, yet this is where we eat every time we get together. The staff and the owners are so thoughtful and kind and creative. They’ll bend over backwards to make their customers happy.I have chosen lady and the shallot to nourish my body for all the ups and downs I’ve had, through pregnancy, loss, celebrations, hard days, it’s food that feeds the body and the soul. I’m so grateful this place is just a car ride away.Kid-friendliness: They have accommodated my feral children many a time lol, they have a high chair seat, they’re patient, and they’ll adapt the food however the kids want. They’ve even held my kids so I can eat ????. Can’t say enough about these angels.

I’ve had the pleasure of dining at Lady and the Shallot (LATS) on several occasions and have never been disappointed! As a bigger man (with a typically non-vegan diet) I admittedly didn’t know what to expect…I can confidently say that I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised at how delicious and filling everything is - not to mention how healthy each and every menu item is! What’s equally impressive is the variety and freshness of the menu, which constantly showcases new and delicious items to supplement their classics (like the Spuds and the Mexican Street Corn, all of which is to die for!).From the moment I walked up to their cozy (and adorably decorated) establishment, I was treated like family, and that level of love and attentiveness is abundantly apparent in the quality of the food! The owners, Kate and Fran, their manager, Kara, and the rest of their dedicated supporting cast, are all warm, personable, and care deeply about their customers, their product, and the environment, which—I believe—is truly unique and special in this day and age.The only thing more spectacular than the food is the atmosphere in which you’re made to feel like you’re part of the LATS family. Whether you’re a vegan or just someone looking to try something new; whether you’re a local or passing through; whether you need a quick bite for lunch or a catered event - the one thing you can count on is that you’ll walk away with a full stomach, a smile on your face, and a yearning to go back again for more!Dietary restrictions: My sister, who has a rare dietary restriction (fructose malabsorption) was able to eat virtually every item on the menu without worrying about her body having a negative reaction. I can’t overstate how refreshing, and how big of a relief, it is to know that there’s a restaurant we can always go to—without having to call ahead and speak to the chef—where she can have a variety of healthy options without having to worry!

I recently had an amazing dining experience at Lady and the Shallot, the vegan restaurant in the Trenton farmers market. Their commitment to sourcing local ingredients is evident in the delicious dishes they serve - especially the spuds and corn!I appreciate their eco-friendly approach with compostable plates and silverware, showcasing a commendable dedication to sustainability. Also, not only is everything vegan, but it's also gluten free and nut free! It's nice to be able to pick anything from a menu and not have to think about it!What truly stood out was the warm and accommodating nature of the owners. Their friendliness added a personal touch to the dining experience, making it even more memorable. I'd return just because of them! The limited space within the farmers market hasn't stopped the friendly and accommodating staff from delivering an exceptional dining experience. It's disheartening to see some negative reviews ignoring the unique challenges of their setting. If it were up to us, they would open up a restaurant the size of the market!!In short, Lady and the Shallot offers top-notch vegan, nut-free, and gluten-free cuisine, with a focus on local ingredients and sustainability. Don't be swayed by reviews that overlook the restaurant's unique charm within the farmers market setting. It's a must-visit for those who appreciate great food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere!Vegetarian options: Entire menu is vegan!Dietary restrictions: Lady and the Shallot is vegan, nut-free, and gluten free. They are able to accommodate almost anything you need.Kid-friendliness: Kids will love the spuds!

I have been eating at Lady and the Shallot since they opened 5 years ago. I find it to be an extremely clean facility which is VERY important, Ive never had a bad meal and all of their selections can please any palate. The owners and staff go above and beyond to satisfy every customer. They are always pleasant and you are greeted with a smile and a positive atittude. I have watched them flourish from day one to what they are now and will strive to continue to be even better- because that's what they do!

Lady and the Shallot offers some of the most nourishing and delicious food our community has to offer. The locally sourced produce is like wrapping our community and farmers in a warm hug with each bite. The atmosphere of eating there or delivered to the comfort of home add to the value. I would always recommend dining in at least half of the time for the sense of community fostered by owners Francesca and Kate and their Baby Shallots. Such amazing humans and food. Some of my favorites are the spicy rainbow tacos, chili, curry tacos, and the lady rancheros. Whatever fresh juice has been created that day is a must as well. A great spot to meet a co worker or friend midday for a nourishing lunch/connection and a rejuvenating spot to visit with the family on weekends. We always leave feeling full and energized.

Lunched there yesterday. Awful. I ordered the small topped baked potato. I wanted the chili but they were out. So instead I opted for something that sounded like it might be good. I was mistaken. Lunch was a very dry, hard, tasteless, barely warmed pieces of previously baked potatoes - topped with cold and what tasted like unseasoned chick peas and canned corn along with a bland sauce I could not quite identify. I love the farmers market and even the setting but I am rating a 1 star based on the food. I am not that fussy. Very disappointing. I will also add that I fully appreciate the earth friendly take on everything. But the fork was so flimsy it was hard to penetrate the potatoes! And it was served in a deep carton lined with paper which was immediately soggy upon opening. I did not request take out. So I instead asked for a plate and was given a little cardboard serving box. Also, not ideal.

From the welcoming owners (treating you like you’re an old friend or family!) to the seating, and of course the food, Lady & the Shallot delivers. I’ve been going since they opened and have never been disappointed or even thought ‘hmm this is usually better.’ They are consistent and their food is always so fresh. I love that their menu isn’t huge and they focus on the ingredients. It’s always worth a visit!Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan! It’s all delicious and filling.

Second time ordering breakfast from them. I am eggs and diary sensitive. Food is super fresh! I personally like spiciness and extra flavor so I bring my own ground peppers and other spices to add but apart from that; still great food, so fresh! the ladies are nice as well!!
